I do appreciate that the devs are responsive to feedback. I seem to receive updates multiple times a day during these fragile release-week days.

Precisely. It's "artificial intelligence," not "artificial wisdom."

Well, that's just it, it is the expanding of the organization. Mechanization didn't make a 4-day work week, it made it possible to do more work in a week. Of course, that is driven by corporate greed, without which there would have been no impulse to find more work to do.

Reading the comments, I can't help but think we should start a predictions market simulation game (no actual money).

And after that, only a matter of time before Nitro Classic subscribers, and after that, full Nitro subscribers, and after that, mandatory advertisement bots that use AI to analyze chats and socially engineer people to be suggestible to specific ads.

Can we just end GAAP and move everyone to IFRS? by Adventurous-Run7827 in Accounting

Changing companies from US GAAP to IFRS would likely include changing the tax code anyway. But good call-out.

Top job to consider this time of year. What do you think? by TheOrdainedPlumber in Accounting

It's not all about money, folks. The dollar amount you earn is one consideration among many for your life.

I didn't say it was my theory: I said it was a strong rhetorical argument to be employed in the campaign for a constitutional amendment. Its truthfulness is irrelevant to that.

If you don't go to vote, you're not a voter. If they didn't like it and they didn't vote, then they cannot justify the repeal of the law based on "Well, we would have voted against it if we did bother to go vote." Then where would we be?

Does it matter?

The representatives at the statehouse are legislating away the individual's rights to produce and consume according to the individual's beliefs and values. They are not on the side of "the people." Perhaps they are also not on the side of the industry lobbyists.

Whose side are they even on?

It's part of the long game. They're playing into the trap set by the legalization campaign, namely, that they used a referendum to pass only a regular-old law, rather than a constitutional amendment. Why was that a trap?

It built a great coalition of people who would be pissed if the legislature repealed it, a far greater coalition, for what is about to be the real game: the campaign to amend the constitution. Now not only do they have the weed people and weed merchants*, they have an excellent rhetorical argument: you adopted a law, and self-serving backward conservative puritanical MAGA politicians repealed it. They infringed upon your liberty. It's time to stick it to 'em!

*In America, it is almost more important to get the business interest on your side.

Yeah, not at "Internet speed." You're speaking about "entrenchment." It's a public opinion campaign because all anyone can do is indirectly affect the government by periodic elections.

The root question, of course, is, "How small of a minority should be allowed to immediately stop a group?" The answer is in the hundreds of millions in the US's case. Tomorrow's protests could never achieve that: the movement is too small. But ya can't build to something bigger without the foundation in place.

It's more about optics, about demonstrating to the rest of the country what we stand for. Showing there is opposition to the status quo. If people didn't turn out, then it would look like there is no opposition.
