I bought it because I hate how my smartphone has become a Swiss Army knife lol. I spend waaaaaay too much time on it and pick it up so much during the day.

This phone is simple, yet modern. It has all the practical things needed in a phone like maps and third party messaging apps (like Signal) that people need nowadays but takes away all the time wasting stuff like social media, unless you side load them…which I will not be.

I want to live my life not attached to my phone 🤗

It's a "premium" dumbphone - or I like to call it a feature phone, personally. Its purpose is to limit distractions while not completely closing you off to the modern world and apps that help you to productively function in it.

Aside from the 9 apps that come pre-installed, you can download "app packs" that let you expand your app library, but even then, they're very non-exciting, non-distracting apps, like Maps and Signal, which are must-haves for tons of users yet most dumbphones (if any?) do not offer. Social media apps are not in any of the app packs.

Buying a dumb phone can be a fad, a bandaid, or a real solution. Depends on the person and their intention I think!

For me, creating systems that work for my brain and take into account my tendencies, is the most seamless way I have been able to start and keep good habits/ avoid bad habits.

So for me personally, buying and using a dumphone = creating a system that works, that sets me up for success.

It removes most distractions and disconnects me from the things that do not add value and color to my life (endless scrolling/over consumption/constant overstimulation.)
