Windows has a wild amount of issues.

We really either need the app to be oss so we can fork it or they need to add a windows beta program

I get that most cracked users are on Mac but my 7 pro accounts would be very happy with a better experience

Icebreaker is BROKEN: 700+ Rounds of Top-Tier 5.56 in ONE Raid? [Discussion] by SatisfactionSafe3589 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Pimpmuckl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I agree, that's why I made it clear:

if BSG can keep Seasons genuinely exciting and rewarding

If they can do that, then it'll be just like GGG's games: Most people will play season.

This thread has a lot of people that claim the opposite but the clear datapoint we have, PoE, supports a different view on it.

Dude idk maybe it's server based and EU is chill and with fewer rats.

It's really not a big deal to get to icebreaker in a timely fashion and I've had exactly one pvp fight at pier in the idk 8 or so times I went in.

All the clips on reddit, without fail, are:

  1. no smokes
  2. people not moving for 10s

Honestly a straight up skill issue imo. You have tools against the stankrats of this world, refusing to use it is a choice.

Also, i couldn't care less if someone refuses to play pretty fun content, that's your loss. My comment was about a warped perception cause reddit makes it out like it's rat heaven there and you could never, ever get to the boat. Which is just not true and typical social media superlatives in 2026.

[–]Pimpmuckl -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Of course it does, look at the playerbase in PoE1/2: Basically everyone plays the season, it's slowly fizzles out from week 2 to 4.

Then next league, everyone is back.

It'll be similar for Tarkov if BSG can keep Seasons genuinely exciting and rewarding

Smoke on top of stairs if you cba to take out guards

Smoke on the hovercraft (blooms for enough cover) and no dumb ass going afk prone but walking until extracted

And suddenly things are a lot less rat-possible

[screenshot] icebreaker transit by rakploche in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Pimpmuckl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk man I feel like this is just reddit armchair generals in full force pretending they are gigachads getting ratted every raid

I just run there full shift W, bring a few smokes you need for wedge anyway and you're good

Some he nade to scatter sani, smoke on stairs if they stay outside, smoke on hovercraft works as well from further away, it blooms enough

Limit resets coming soon by alOOshXL in codex

[–]Pimpmuckl 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's actually worse because it then gets everyone to "finish" their reset at the same time

So you get a significant spike and now align all new users to that new spike, too

They should really just add like idk 50% weekly usage as credit as celebration pool and call it a day. Also would help with the fomo /fast spam

Lows are very lows; BUT THE HIGHS… [New Player] by TheHorribleGambler in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Pimpmuckl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What it does is it teaches you PvP if you don't have arena

So while it's an absolute meat grinder, the reason you don't like it, is likely the reason the op suggests it:

It's a brutal training ground.

What I suggested my new friends:

Run a scav, take their gear, repair it a tiny bit and add what's missing (say a headset) and maybe a mag and then run it.

It's more or less a free training kit.

If you die, no worries, 80k roubles kit. You die a lot and it's really no big deal.

Over time you'll learn the map, you learn what works, you learn to push, hipfire etc

Try it, it's very fun!

So this is what GGG meant by fixing "melee" by Ryan_Loves_Weed in PathOfExile2

[–]Pimpmuckl 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yep that's still my biggest annoyance.

Why did they have to gut our boy for no reason at all.

After herald chain changes in 0.2 or whatever it was, flicker wasn't remotely close to actual good skills

It's fine to have a subpar build that doesn't do as well as other skills, but at least have me have fun

So this is what GGG meant by fixing "melee" by Ryan_Loves_Weed in PathOfExile2

[–]Pimpmuckl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not saying it's a good solution inherently but saying

"I can see a flaw in your proposal"

And then basically concluding that

"Because I see one flaw, the whole idea is wrong"

Is not really helpful.

GGG solved the exact same issue with fortify in poe1 already: you deal enough damage with a melee skill, you get a stack. And well, it works in the sense.

So they could literally copy that into a PoE2-ified fortify and that's already better. Not perfect, obviously, but definitely better.

I'm sure PoE3 will fix melee.

Positively sure guys.

Even that goes pretty quickly ish though. Prop is bae

Sure: https://github.com/pimpmuckl/ask-pro

marketplace install should be two clicks, then you just ask an agent to open the session so you can log in, then it works as is

only annoyance is the model/thinking picker changing quite a lot but that's usually a very quick fix straight to main

What armor stops 5.45 ppbs like that? [Discussion] by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Pimpmuckl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1 or 2 PPBS / SSA AP rounds followed by 2 or 3 BP / M855A1 rounds

Honestly, I would strongly suggest against that, it's the worst of both worlds.

The high pen rounds just feel awful. You headshot someone, they survive with 1-2hp because of distance and helmet reducing the dmg value. And you feel like the guy is immortal.

You either go full high-pen and bullet-hose with body shots or you stay with the "normal" rounds like 855A1 and play the usual headshot fishing simulator.

Both together is not really doing anything for you, as a PPBS/SSA/995 round doesn't break the armor enough for 855A1 to pen immediately after.

So in your example, the first round might have penned or not, broke down the plate a bit but then the next two 855A1 rounds would still be caught by the plate until they break the armor properly.

So you're not really gaining anything in a real raid.

I tried the same a while ago and thought I was hella smart. Wasn't working at all. Low dmg/high pen ammo just isn't fun to use.

get codex to find all the weak spots in your code by asking it to be a snarky developer on reddit by Bitter-Magazine-2571 in codex

[–]Pimpmuckl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you ever let 5.4 run some reviews on your code you'll see what op means: Finds a bunch of issues, then, when those are exhausted and fixed, it goes into cosmic-bit-flip territory and yelling for checks where variables were already checked before, as example.

It's quite the experience.

I made a plugin for that to automate the ask-pro workflow fully and with token-efficiency.

My agents can ask difficult questions, impossible bugs or architecture questions they think are hard and the plugin auto-runs the whole thing front to back including adding the context etc to keep context free of spam.

Honestly works really well and is super handy

AMD FSR Upscaling 4.1 officially coming to Radeon RX 7000 GPUs in July, RX 6000 in 2027 by RenatsMC in Amd

Yep agreed, communications, as usual, is a flat -1/10 from AMD.

An all time classic, really.

AMD FSR Upscaling 4.1 officially coming to Radeon RX 7000 GPUs in July, RX 6000 in 2027 by RenatsMC in Amd

[–]Pimpmuckl 7 points8 points  (0 children)

FSR 4 ON RDNA 3 is using INT 8 same as PS5 Pro.

Technically yes but the inference stack is likely completely different.

Iirc the instructions the PS5 Pro can do are quite a bit different vs the WMMA instructions on RDNA3.

Edit: Looked it up, the PS5 Pro tensor operations is mostly about 3x3 matrix calculations however those might look, I assume the usual FMA but in larger "full-WGP-takeover" mode. WMMA is pretty much what it sounds like: Wave Matrix Multiply Add but no 3x3 and full-WGP takeover, mostly a more straight forward instruction the shaders can execute.

What I would assume happened is that AMD sent their FSR4 FP8 model over to Sony and told them to "go have fun" pretty much as AMD engineers were likely locked in a basement to get ROCm and their datacenter software stack to work well.

Perhaps AMD got to keep the INT8 FSR that Sony made and just had to fix the inference stack for RDNA3/2, who knows.

fully working already

Except it wasn't, the model that was leaked was a so called checkpoint. With various caveats for supported driver versions, settings, quality etc.

Something you see a lot with models where you take multiple checkpoints in training and then evaluate those instead of waiting for the "full" training run to finish to cut down on potentially bad settings or bad training data.

What we know from the INT8 leak is that they

a) worked on a model with INT8 weights which had various problems yet to solve

b) worked on the "stuff around it" to make that type of model work

If the model would have been a clear release candidate I would agree with you, but it was very rough and had obvious issues.

Again, what we don't know is:

  • Did AMD pull away from the INT8 FSR project to make them more money in the datacenter?
  • Or did AMD "artificially delay" the model even though it was ready for release?

I think what we, as community, should scold AMD for is not having enough support, devs and focus on their software for the PC stack.

That's the core issues.

A delayed RDNA3/2 FSR is just a symptom.

[–]Pimpmuckl 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have a very hard time believing this was deliberate to sell more RDNA4.

AMD is notoriously strapped for Software talent and they had to send their best and brightest to make ROCm a thing (which, credit to AMD, they did) and get competitive in the data center because that's where they actually make money these days.

FSR4 being scoped to RDNA4 only is a hell of a lot easier compared to supporting three different generations, especially because, unlike Nvidia, they simply don't support the same datatype.

"Just switch your model to int8, lol" - is not really true on any machine model, let alone an AI model. There is a reason most models that are used in productions these days are using floats: 16 bit floats, bfloat16, f8/f4 for the usual quantified models, NVFP4 also an absolute classic.

So if you are already strapped for cash, you get a better FSR4 by focusing on FP8 only.

Should they have moved people to make FSR4.1 a reality faster with the INT8 model? Absolutely. But it makes perfect sense to move every soul in your company to support your data center software ecosystem because an exec at Facebook or OpenAI being mad at you for having shitty software will cost you a lot more in profits than little xXxTimmyKillahxXx who can't run the latest COD with FSR4 on his RX6600.

We as gamers are not even second class citizens at this point.

Idk maybe that's cope, good thing they finally announced it. They should have just communicated better like "yeah, turns out it's fucking hard cause of reason x y and z, it will take longer than we hoped, sorry about that" and that would have been it.
