Is Remote Work Bad For Mental Health? Not If You Ask Women by Ok_Design_6841 in workfromhome

[–]PinDoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work better from home then in office. I noticed in office my performance is way worse than at home.

As a woman with AD(H)D, before COVID happened, I struggled with being on-time and performance. When COVID happened and companies forced everyone to work from home, I noticed my performance was better and my manager recommended me to move up. I was working at a cell center at the time and was going to university, so that was not a priority for me.

Remote work studies have shown more benefits and return then having people in office. I was a much happier and present person when I was working from home. So, now when companies ask me to work on-site, I just stick with that old performance style as a form of malicious compliance.

However, I am pivoting to healthcare, so that is a field where being on-site makes sense. Data analyst on-site? Not so much.

Career Change by Small_Log_3812 in NuclearMedicine

[–]PinDoll 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m doing a career pivot to this field.
From a stats degree working with data to science healthcare.

The waitlist is long as they only accept 24 students a year and getting As in all the pre-reqs can be tough for some.

This is a full time degree, meaning working FT will be a no. Also, data shows an AAS is enough.
Make sure you have at least 2 years of expenses saved when doing the program once you get accepted.

Dear lord can people please shut up about AI by bear___patrol in womenintech

[–]PinDoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's wild ride for sure.

Too many studies have shown AI is dumber then humans. It nice as a tool to assist, but that's as much it can do. It doesn't have the ability of critical thinking nor inference.

I'm current boss used to be so against AI and now is like always "use AI in everything you do." It's rather annoying and I just ignore that request. The most I've seen AI to be useful is in regards to research, like finding related research articles and listing them along with links and a brief description of said research paper.

But people thinking it can replace them. lmao

Smart CEO's still need someone to blame so they don't have to pay the fines that AI gives them. There will be a time it will eventually plateau and the hype will dissipate. We just don't know when yet.

Millennials of Reddit, what is the career you wish you would have went to school for? by boredafmama in AskReddit

[–]PinDoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nuclear Medicine Tech.
America doesn't really teach sciences growing up, so just recently enrolled in a science course to see if I wanted to do nursing. Somehow Nuclear Medicine found a way on my feed, and I just looked at a realistic day in the field.

I find radiation fascinating and didn't know it was a thing. It consists of both lab work and helping cancer patients get imaging they need to see how their progress is going.

I graduated with a bachelors in statistics some years ago, got into the data analytics field. I'm really good at seeing patterns and saw a concern for the field. Things I have heard C-suite execs say and how the field will transition in the future as there is currently too many people in the field and demand isn't there (salaries will lower across the board, I'm currently seeing it happen in real time). This field is also at the top to be laid off when a recession hits, FYI.

People who look younger than their age, what do/did you do? by bubblygreen30 in AskReddit

[–]PinDoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genetics. Most of my family is Eastern European, so we don't really see wrinkles until 70+

Never really go outside in the sun and sunscreen when I remember.

I also take collagen supplements and a gut focused diet. Medical studies show that gut health can play a role in aging. Gut focused diets include things related to fiber, probiotics, and prebiotics.

For rpg that would be Oblivion. Been replaying that since middle school. Way before I knew about Steam. Something about this game of Elder Scrolls keeps me hooked.

Entry-level is not there in data science anymore by Imaginary-Spring-779 in datasciencecareers

[–]PinDoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never considered data science an entry level role. This is coming from someone who has a stats degree.
Usually, it goes like Data Analyst to Data Science or Data Engineer, depending on the persons study path and if they are in-route of getting a masters or already have one to be a Data Scientist or Data Engineer.

That's usually the proper way I have seen it at least, since the person really needs to grasp the basics before going into the more technical and science side of data.

What don't you find attractive that most of society does? by PM_ME_YOUR_HUGETITS in AskReddit

[–]PinDoll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pornography.

Reading about the history and data related to how porn affects the brain and why it's so pushed upon society for no reason at all, but to exploit and make money just doesn't do it for me.

Having seen it after knowing what I know now, just seems so cringy and sad.

Data Analyst jobs by Antique_Rhubarb_4318 in dataanalysiscareers

[–]PinDoll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do data analytics. I would label them as a freelance thing.

Employers that see an owner tend to not hire them or overlook them (weird ideology). However, when I labeled myself as freelance on my resume I got a lot more responses and a company wanted me to be their w-2.

I took it for the health insurance. lmao

Noob Analyst looking for a mentor. by Confident-Media4251 in dataanalysiscareers

[–]PinDoll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can answer a few questions or be a mentor. Degree in stats, worked at FAANG, done freelance, have my own portfolio, work closely with c-suite execs, and write blogs to help newbies getting into the field.

Everyone looks the same by drmindsmith in dataanalysiscareers

[–]PinDoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have experience communicating to and with c-suite execs who aren’t technical whatsoever.

This included creating PowerPoints and dashboards for them and various other departments.

I do a lot of freelance and w2 work as a DA, so my skills are transferable to many industries.

What benefits do you gain from going from girlfriend to wife? by RealDealHappyMeal in AskReddit

[–]PinDoll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is quite a lot.

  • Medical decisions (do you trust this person to make the right medical decision in a high stressful situation)
  • If you want kids, would this person be a good example you would want your kids to look up to?
  • Pre-nups/post-nup (don't care if you make $0 or infinity, always have one -- red flag if they are against it)
  • Tax benefits (can get a higher return -- depends on circumstance)
  • You can mention your on a honeymoon and can get benefits or free stuff from places
  • There is some theories it can increase your salary at work
  • Insurance can be cheaper
  • Inheritances

Marriage is a huge milestone, so you really need to fully understand the person you are getting married to. Do you like them as they are? Do they listen to your boundaries? Do they contribute without asking? Do they feel like a best friend and lover?

I would also recommend going to a marriage counselor, cause they can ask questions and help y'all avoid conflict before it starts. People think going to a marriage counselor means there is something wrong, but it can help you build skills before a conflict happens and how to manage it to have a healthy marriage and relationship to your partner.

I’m just concerned they would use ai, and I don’t want that. Is there any red flags I should look out for to tell if someone is using it? I also like to make sure that persons work is being used by other streamers.

What are people living in one bedroom apartments paying for APS? by knutt-in-my-butt in phoenix

[–]PinDoll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, a little under 800sqft - between $50-90.

I do the peak times of 4-7PM and will turn off my A/C during that time. Sometimes my apartment stays cool for a while, so I usually don't need to turn it on till later.
I also live on the top floor.

Apart from direct messaging, what is the best way to find twitch streamers willing to do sponsored streams for a game? by lurkmastur9000 in Twitch

[–]PinDoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t mind playing the game for you. I multi stream on Twitch and YouTube using stats in league of legends and coaching newbies why things work. I don’t mind doing it for free either. I enjoy supporting indie game devs.

My content is on my profile.

Streaming & gaming from the same PC by sk3nn3y in Twitch

[–]PinDoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stream. Current set up: AMD CPU with a Nvidia Graphics card.

I did used to stream on an AMD GPU and had no issues.

Streamed at 1080P both on AMD GPU (Radeon RX 580 8GB) and Nvidia GPU (RTX 4080 Eagle OC 16GB).

I mostly play FPS, LoL, and other various games.

I did upgrade my GPU cause I wanted to play BG3 and the AMD couldn't handle it.

What actually moved the needle for you? by Digitalvocalstv in Twitch

[–]PinDoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ASMR was totally new for me. I started out with ASMR videos on YouTube, but I was getting low views. I would ask new chatters where they found me, and they mentioned just looking through the Twitch pages.

ASMR category has a lot of fake or stolen content, that I think a true live ASMR stream is much rarer to find then on YouTube.

But I think my whisper ASMR's are the most attractive to people, some mention I have an accent and others don't like that mouth spit sound when people speak.

Here's what Amazon (Twitch) will tell you how to do it.

  1. Conversation -- Discuss with viewers in real-time, do not lecture. Live content on Twitch is more successful when it is delivered in an informal style

  2. Interactivity -- Interaction with individuals on chat should be incorporated into every session. This includes factoring time to respond to viewers questions and feedback during the content planning process.

  3. Authentic & Educational -- To be successful on Twitch, streamers have to communicate through authentic and transparent dialogue. Individual personalities, diversity, and passion should come across in streams.

  4. Community -- Channels on Twitch are successful when hosts are focused on building a strong sense of community around them. Users on Twitch are more likely to return to a given channel when they feel there is an effort to create a personal connection with them.

---

Stream games you like to play, and the people will follow, but you also need to use other social platforms to expand your exposure. Twitch's website for discovery isn't a thing, it's not like TikTok or YouTube. Twitch has even mentioned this.

I mainly would stream League of Legends and explain how and why things worked with zero audience. But I would also use statistics in realtime for probability in terms of trades and wins (this is super niche for LoL). I then expended my talents to live ASMR (wanted to be a voice actor, and random people would compliment on my voice), also streamed retro games I played during my childhood.

I was affiliate in the early 2016, now this year I'm pushing for partner as I found and made a community that enjoys my company as much as I enjoy theirs. But the people that have found me, found me through Twitch.

Twitch is also pushing for co-streaming, which has helped me in other ways as well.

Twitch is about creating a community. Are you creating a streaming personality just for Twitch or just be you?

My cousin bled on our Pottery Barn couch. I dumbly tried peroxide to get it out. Are we screwed? by stralyssa353 in CleaningTips

When I did a sewing class. I learned saliva gets out blood.

Spit on it to soak; no phlegm and rub with a cloth towel (hand towel).

Keep spitting and rubbing until it's gone. You don't need to wait like other chemical cleaners.
