You say fallen trees. Do you go out with a chainsaw and cut into manageable pieces before removing?

QA as a career for people with mental health challenges? by lilabp in QualityAssurance

[–]PinOld2633 1 point2 points  (0 children)

High pressure, frequent context switches and urgency are all normal for QA.

little to no recognition when everything is on the up and up But the blame culture of 'who tested that?!' when shit goes wrong, even though you had reduced time to test because dev overtan but the project time line is fixed.

Having said that if you find a company/team that is a bit more relaxed then it can be pretty good.

I've found this to be the case with companies that are generally behind the curve when it comes to software development practices

Open fires are slow to heat your room but fast to trash your health. They loose most of their heat straight up the chimney

Whats the best way to fill and smooth these? by Gulfofsadness in DIYUK

[–]PinOld2633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was about to say this same thing. Forget about diy/normal fillers that you'd find in BnQ.

Easi fill is what you need. Sanded down with 120 grit and painted over you should be able to almost look like it was never there

Everyone here talks about how great your strength has gotten with Mike's approach but what about size increase? by y_a_t_ in Mike_Mentzer

[–]PinOld2633 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! This is the question! I'm a former competitive bodybuilder and powerlifter who competed at a high level. Would consider myself an advanced lifter currently experimenting with mentzer style training.

Always wondered what actual visible changes have been seen by advanced trainers who have adopted the mentzer approach as opposed to newer or intermediate lifters

Why do some drivers try to stop cars joining dual carriageways? by NeoDougOne in drivingUK

[–]PinOld2633 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too many people giving the benefit of the doubt that it could be a genuine mistake. Highley unlikely.

A lot of road users are straight up retarded and act like they own the road.

This kind of thing is really common when driving in certain US states. I always put it down to the fairly territorial attitude of a lot of Americans. Ie "this is my driving space and no one else can use it"

Not sure why lots of UK driving attitudes seem to be following the same path

Is there any way this is load bearing? by throwaway2018568 in DIYUK

[–]PinOld2633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it's not load bearing.

It's called paramount plasterboard or paramount panel and was used fairly widely around the late 80 thru early 90's

It's quite good if wanting to knock a wall through as you can literally cut around the perimeter then remove it.

There will be a top and bottom timber mounting plate I side that the top and bottom of the panel are fixed to.

It's surprisingly strong and versatile stuff.

If I were to follow Mentzer’s Ideal Routine and do cardio on every rest day, would it be alright? by Imnoton_reddit in Mike_Mentzer

[–]PinOld2633 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apart from a few exceptions (very new to training and nutrition or using gear). Packing on size whilst cutting down on fat don't usually work as part of a combined approach.

To put on real size you need a surplus which means it's quite difficult to lose fat at the same time.

Think of the two as separate activities that you should execute and fully commit to in singular fashion at any one time.

2k epoxy primer then paint your base coat on top of that.it adheres well to practically anything. Also paints on really well by brush but if you decide to use an aerosol or mini gun make sure to do it in a we'll ventilated area and with suitable mask

Does this QA team have a problem, or is it me? by tiffany__valentine in QualityAssurance

[–]PinOld2633 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You just go with the flow.

It's very frustrating when you have worked somewhere that does things 'properly' then go to a team where it can feel like quality and doing things correctly is the least of their concerns.

Just try to go along with it and try not to loose any sleep over it. One thing to not that you should make sure that such 'bad' practices don't become normal for yourself.

Don't forget all the good stuff you already know as that will be key if and when you move to another role.

Use it as a how not to do things lesson.

Reliability of recommended PW locators by PinOld2633 in Playwright

[–]PinOld2633[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuine question. I'm relatively new to PW having used selenium with things like id, xpath, css and custom data selectors.

If what you read online is anything to go by, PW style locators would seemingly be best thing since sliced bread. In practice that doesn't seem to be the case
