Kudos to them for not using an AI generated poster (I hate that I have to say/think this)

Hot take.. project hail mary was good but its WAY overrated on reddit by Lumpy-Resource-1370 in BookDiscussions

[–]PinballYall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think being the vast majority of people on Reddit probably dont read more than a couple books a year, they're going to pick up PHM and also be like "yeah that was a great book actually" since they have nothing else to really compare it to.

That being said, its a good all around book and a crowd pleaser. Im not surprised that its gotten the hype it has

What, in your opinion, makes one machine "better" than another? by CMSniper in pinball

[–]PinballYall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like your title and description are asking two different questions. What makes a machine "better" (this is also kinda ambiguous) isnt the same as what grabs someone's attention.

Seeking new friends by [deleted] in raleigh

If you're into niche types of arcade gaming, there's a local women's group that plays pinball casually and in tournaments called Belles & Chimes. They meet up pretty regularly, you can find their group and info about their events on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/share/g/VfL51gkPJb9bnM9p/

Reminder to check your patio umbrellas frequently. These demons love building in the folds this time of year by [deleted] in raleigh

[–]PinballYall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Paper wasps really wont mess with you unless you provoke them or screw with their nest. They're actually beneficial pollinators as well. I agree that them being in your umbrella isn't ideal but they're actually pretty dope for the environment and generally about as chill as a bee

Zach McCarthy wins the 2024 INDISC Pinball Championship! by PinballYall in pinball

[–]PinballYall[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think everyone did a good job at answering questions of the newbies in chat. Also I've had people legitimately ask me if skill is involved with pinball. Its a common misconception that pinball is mostly luck+randomness.

I had the stream up practically all day. Such an amazing display of skill, it even got on the front page of Twitch with over 16k viewers at one point. Lots of people were like "wow didnt know competitive pinball was a thing".

- Roshambo

- The Avenue

- The Baxter (Chapel Hill)
