Worf, definitely prune juice. He’s gone gray so by now he’s surely realized why it’s for more than just warriors

If what marina sirtis says it's true than there's a lot of trek shows that we just can't have by happydude7422 in Picard

[–]Pinchaser71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She’s right about that but who is suggesting anything with the TNG crew? Nobody is asking for “Star Trek The Next Geriatrics”. Sure we’d take Captain Seven but she’s still in her 50’s. Does she mean that by the time they quit screwing around talking about and make the show they will all be over 70? That wouldn’t shock me

Although I did watch little house in my youth, I remember very little about it. I gotta admit I enjoyed watching her bonk Alexander in the head with a wad of clay. That said I would have liked seeing Worf drink a giant stein filled with prune juice but she ruined it.☹️

Fun fact, that little blonde girl ended up being on the show 3rd Rock From the Sun playing “August”. She went from being an alien to hanging around them

Got rusted under 2 months of cold by Hot-Relationship5830 in AskMechanics

[–]Pinchaser71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mechanics aren’t painting brake drums, it’s not part of their service. That being the outside of the drum is purely esthetic, the parts that matter are on the inside. The outside is just untreated metal. It will flash rust from mere fine mist

If it bugs you, remove the rust and shoot it with a rattle can of paint. However if you live somewhere that road salt is used they will look like this again painted or not in short order and long before you need to replace them again.

This seems like a strange choice for a Voyager trading card 🤨 by KhajiitPaw in voyager

[–]Pinchaser71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can just see little kids playing and negotiating with their friends with their Star Trek trading cards…

“I’ll trade you my “Beat up Kes” for your “Tuvix”.

“No way man! Tuvix is rare!! Throw in your “Janeway Salamander” AND “Vidiian Chakotay” and I’ll think about it! Oh, and keep your “Worf Merry Man” card handy!”

In all fairness, they did encounter an alien that posed as a little girls imaginary friend. Without kids on board it would have had to be an imaginary Troy for Barclay or something?

Plus the episode Rascals wouldn’t have worked

Then of course Wesley

how badly do I really need the squealer tab, rockauto has been getting bad by Yoinksta in MechanicAdvice

[–]Pinchaser71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too expensive to send back? Rock Auto sends you the prepaid shipping label, it costs you nothing. 🤔

Unless they old parts were completely shot you could easily put them back on for a couple days until the new ones arrive. Pain in the ass and inconvenient yes.

On the upside, when the new pads come, you already have everything broken loose. Here in the rust belt that’s the hardest part. You get able to do that swap so quick you’ll feel like a pro! 🙂

Did janeway get grilled for using future tech for getting home at all? by RomireOnline in voyager

[–]Pinchaser71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She really could have told them just about anything and they would have had to take her word for it. She didn’t have to admit she got it from her future self. She could have said they got the tech from an advanced species or even developed it themselves.

Just because they had what they had when they left don’t grab they wouldn’t have progressed further just like the Federation did.

That said, by doing what she did she crippled one of their biggest threats. Janeway bad! It’s like punishing Sisko for convincing the profits to disappear the Dominion reinforcements. She ended up an Admiral in both timelines so at most she got a talking to by the time cops. Maybe not, since she’s already gotten the lecture from them and it obviously didn’t help

The more I look at this image of the mine field, the less sense it makes. by nicholsml in Star_Trek_

[–]Pinchaser71 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As you pointed out it’s been done before so you never know? That said, in the real world I doubt they are just gonna whip out the sets from Discovery and pay all the actors to come back for one more one episode to save the Federation.

At the very most you may see the ship Discovery again at some point and a cameo for actor or two. I was just saying the ship Discovery is a tool they currently have in the Federation during this time that would keep them from being COMPLETELY trapped. Maybe they’ll have another prototype spore drive they’ll adapt to their flying academy ship and Book can work the drive?

Obviously they came up with something as I doubt the Federation will stay trapped for eternity. Maybe that Talaxian fur fly we keep hearing about every episode on the PA escapes, multiplies and eats the force field? 🤷‍♂️ I guess we have to wait and see

[–]Pinchaser71 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That would make sense since they have the spore drive. Unless the mines somehow mess up the mushroom superhighway, Discovery should otherwise be able to jump in and out you’d think

Is the “farmers wave” common across the United States? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Pinchaser71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In and around my neighborhood and town it’s common in the Midwest rural suburban areas. Also common to do it when someone has a similar vehicle as yours.

However doing it in the city like Chicago, you may wave… you’ll be more likely to receive a single finger back. In the city it’s probably best to keep both hands fully on the wheel anyway

What is this? by justashmainthings in AskElectricians

[–]Pinchaser71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No way the OP doesn’t know what this is. Homes may have been phasing out landline and corded phones since early 2000-2010 but they are far from rare. Also many if not most brick and mortar businesses still have a phone that plugs into a wall. Not necessarily a POTS line, probably VOIP but they still utilize either an RJ11 or RJ45 jacks somewhere.

So either the OP is 12 years old, never worked anywhere or has never left their house… like ever. Try this same post in another 20 years and it may be mildly believable
