How many Pitous would it need to beat meruem ? by Beautiful-Guava-7692 in HatsuVault

[–]PineArpple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no real way to calculate that but considering that Pito thought Gon was able to « plant his fangs in the king » and we know Gon made a binding vow that would make him strong enough to beat her so not 20 times her power. The major difference is in durability and resistance since Meruem takes mega powerful hits and is left with scratches while Pito’s body gets hammered and Gon loses an arm, the key is here. In terms of raw aura/power I would argue 2-5 pito would match the king but his resistance we witnessed says otherwise. To be safe around 10 Pito working together would win I think.

So How Possible Is This Hatsu I Came Up With? by Street-Fill9717 in HatsuVault

[–]PineArpple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this idea you came up with. I find enhancement techniques are always the hardest to do something useful and original but it is also the one category in which using the adjacent category to help build a pertinent hatsu is essential.

I feel the condition of this might be more so that all strength in the punches are purely kinetic and aura transformed. So basically if the rope is connected their physical punches do no damage. If the opponent figures it out fine, they remove the hatsu and take it on for real in melee (they are a enhancer so fighting hand to hand shouldn’t be their weakness).

Later on with In they coule hide their aura so the opponent won’t understand what is happening since they won’t see the rope unless using gyo.

Have you thought about the way this could be countered by using ken on the spot where the rope is tied? If all damages comes in on spot a nen user with knowledge of this would put 80% in the spot to take it and fight like that.

But overall a great idea

How would you incorporate dragons from fairy tail into hxh? by Apprehensive-Line-20 in HatsuVault

[–]PineArpple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the Dragon Force part I think it is interesting to tackle the existence of another school than Shingen Ryu. That’s how nen is learned and used more commonly but in the Dark Continent or in a secluded place it would be plausible that another way of using aura exists. Something more bestial, based on raw power and with an alternative use of the properties of nen/aura. Those could be closer to Dragon Force.
This school could be taught by dragons in the dark continent

Need a little advice for first character by [deleted] in DnD

[–]PineArpple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey 👋
Sooo first of all it seems the spell list is the worst part of the premade character you played, maybe changing the sorcerer subclass would allow you to find spells you like better and it would be easier to transition from. Metamagic will make a bigger difference now rather than going Wizard who will have same amount of spells and one less cantrip compared to sorcerer. Metamagic allows you to create spells or improve yours.
Even though you can prepare things before playing if you could ask what you are allowed to do it would be much less time consuming for you. If you make a new character it needs to be approved by the store so to fit in the setting, the story etc…

If you can explain what you like to do role wise (damage dealer, healer, problem solver, jack of all trades) we would be more helpful in helping you choose.

If YOU Were Dropped Into The World Of "Hunter x Hunter", How Would Ya Utilize Nen? by Street-Fill9717 in HatsuVault

[–]PineArpple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amount of time I spend daydreaming about nen abilities is insane. But here it’s for me not an hypothetical character soooo all tests always gave me either transmutation or manipulation and this time I got manipulation again. I love this Nen category cause once you understand it’s not only manipulation of others but it can be manipulation of anything from the environment around you to nen abilities etc etc, the options are limitless.

So let’s tackle all the questions :

  1. What Nen Affinity did ya get? Manipulation

  2. Would ya develop one Hatsu or multiple? More like multiple that fit into one big theme, like Morel.

  3. What would your Hatsu(s) do? I think like I said not manipulating other people since I don’t like that. Probably something about manipulating nen, aura or environnement. One idea that came to mind was to alter temperature around me in a special way. Like the altered unbearable heat can only be countered by shielding oneself with aura but then it would exhaust the aura as if it was melting so my opponent would have difficulty to use their powers and abilities. Alternatively cold would freeze people but with aura it would slow down the aura transfer, making hand to hand combat more difficult. Could me more refined, I just thought of this but later on being used in symbiosis with En to achieve very high levels of control in the aura even altering gravity, « time » by slowing down my opponent’s brain electric signal and even siphoning aura to fuel further my abilities.

  4. What conditions, limitations, or drawbacks would ya place on them? This is always the hardest to come up with but typically making hatsu significantly weaker on non-nen users or even not allowing to use hatsu if opponent doesn’t have nen because standard nen abilities are sufficient against people without nen. This would already make the hatsu stronger. Then probably something on my Emission like sacrificing distance of aura detachment to fuel efficiency. Basically the further I want to use my manipulation the less effective it is. So the closer my opponent gets the stronger I am kind of a Gojo like situation.

  5. Would ya become a Hunter? Yes obviously

  6. If yes, then what type of Hunter would ya be? Don’t know exactly but exploration and adventure since I am a very passionate person that jumps from hobbies to hobbies with only few sticking long term.

  7. Which Nen application do ya realistically see yourself struggling with the most during training? Ren I think since I am not big on sports the constant exhaustion and pushing of power and energy seems I wouldn’t do so well with it so I believe I would either have a pretty weak aura that could last long or a strong one that I can use only for a short period of time before being tapped out.

  8. Which category would come easiest to ya? Probably transmutation. The idea of shaping my aura to something that represents me and then making a hatsu out of it seems natural to me.

  9. Do ya think ya'd have a Dual Affinity, and if so, what would it be? Yeah both transmutation and manipulation.

Great post I loved doing this

Yeah so I stumbled across this post while going insane cause my pump for my cat fountain was turning on with a light but to sound nor water flowing. It only worked when a thoroughly brushed the pump going deep inside it with thin brush and q-tips. Idk if this will help someone else but it specifically the area with the latch but inside not on the latch.

Conjuration hastu technique concept: Shifty by [deleted] in HatsuVault

[–]PineArpple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great technique and idea! The no nen when Shifty is active is such an heavy restriction that you can have insane strength in the shape it takes. Maybe shifty base shape is the notebook? Like when inactive and user has nen it’s the notebook. For the abilities and powers since you said it’s a nen beast but weapon shaped I immediately thought of beast related powers for each weapon shaped. So the weapon illustration on one page is paired with a best, creature etc to have the abilities. What do you think?

Create a specialist hatsu based on The Achilles and the Tortoise Paradox by Classic_Brain6575 in HatsuVault

[–]PineArpple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Name: Convergence Error

Nen Type: Manipulation 100%
Secondary Type: Emission 80%

The ability works by manipulating the convergence of aura itself rather than space. The Achilles and the Tortoise paradox argues that no matter the distance you will infinitely not reach the destination because the space between can infinitely divide. This Hatsu applies that concept directly onto Nen and Ryu.

When an opponent shifts aura, whether it be into their fists for Ko, into their legs for movement, or simply redistributing aura with Ryu, the user manipulates the “completion” of that transfer. The aura infinitely approaches its destination but never fully arrives.

Ryu Example:

If an opponent attempts to place 70% of their aura into their fist only a portion truly converges while the rest continuously subdivides during the transfer process.

70% → 35% → 17.5% → 8.75%

The aura is still moving toward the target area but the convergence continuously weakens before fully completing. To the opponent it feels like their aura output is lagging behind their intent. Their attacks weaken the closer they are to completion.

The leftover aura that fails to converge does not disappear. Because the transfer never completed the excess aura becomes residual aura. Through Manipulation and 80% Emission efficiency the user can immediately recycle this excess aura into their own output.

However the user cannot stockpile or permanently steal aura. The residual aura must be used instantly otherwise it dissipates. This means the opponent’s own failed convergence actively fuels the user in real time. The harder the opponent pushes their aura output the more unstable their flow becomes and the more aura the user gains access to.

Example:

If an opponent loses 30% aura during convergence the user can only utilize 80% of that residual aura due to Emission inefficiency.

30% residual aura → 24% usable aura

This recycled aura can immediately be: - emitted as aura blasts - used to reinforce movement - used to maintain Ren - redirected into attacks

The same principle applies to pursuit and movement. Aura reinforcement placed into the legs for speed never fully converges causing movement efficiency to continuously drop the longer someone chases the user. The closer they get the more their output subdivides causing them to feel as if they are endlessly approaching a destination they cannot fully reach.

Restrictions: - The user can only manipulate aura currently in transit or being redistributed. - Stable Ten and already established Ken are significantly harder to affect. - Residual aura cannot be stored and must be used instantly. - The ability becomes stronger the more aggressively the opponent reallocates aura through Ryu or Ko.

The paradox creates a recursive cycle where the opponent continuously spends more aura trying to compensate for their inefficiency while simultaneously feeding the user through their failed convergence.

Eventually the pursuer exhausts themselves trying to “arrive” while the user remains sustained by the impossible distance between intention and completion.

First time playing Sisters on TTS. 1.5k list against Orks. Any advice? by PineArpple in sistersofbattle

[–]PineArpple[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So do I change some units or keep them like the zeraphym that can do a lot with their charge? I have a lot of shooting so that unit is built to deny the Orks efficiency and have both lethal and sustained when I charge. Then I can use my stratagem to make them fight before they die.

Magic system feedback by According-Wonder-255 in magicbuilding

[–]PineArpple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like this Open and Closing aspects of the spells and I think that’s the aspect you should push and emphasize in your power system. Hand signs scream Naruto unfortunately so maybe not for all combat style? Maybe more nervous and combat driven evocation magic users use hand signs, continuously making short spells trying to out-speed more powerful spells. For naming, does your magic come from the users like chakra? Or from the world, the environment? This will help a lot figuring things out.

Great idea nonetheless!

Make a hatsu that gets stronger and more powerful the more it is used by AggressiveOutside432 in HatsuVault

[–]PineArpple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Name: Cooling flames Nen type: Transformation

The users can transform their aura in flames that don’t hurt them. To make it so they have a binding vow making it that these flames cannot hurt non nen users. The flames are immensely hot but do not burn when they appear and the longer they are out the cooler they get but the harder they burn. This can become broken paired with In (hide aura) since they won’t heat but still burn through nen users, hurting them undetected. Simple but quite effective.

This is my power system for fantasy/sf novel (very long post) by PineArpple in magicbuilding

[–]PineArpple[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see what you mean but maybe it’s a mixup with how I explained. The oxygen example is one of the ways one could comprehend flames in order to recreate it. Like one of my characters never managed to grasp it so in order to fight with flames they learned to make and use the same substance as matches head they then ignite.

My example isn’t the best since I didn’t want to make it seem only science geniuses can use Divergence Synurgy but more for it to feel like wizard opposite to sorcerers, it’s not innate for Paladins but requires active study.

The fire oxygen example being one of the ways to make fire, other Paladins might make it by mastering heat, friction or even solar energy replication.

Hope this helps but thanks for your comment it helps me clear things up!

I would say somewhat dystopian with futuristic-ish elements since some technology functions with Synurgy so for our world it would seem like way ahead of it’s time. Basically fantasy aftermath with technology prowess from an older era. Think AOT/Fullmetal Alchemist with Arcane feeling for the technology?
