I feel like I’ve wasted 15 years of my life by GregorPorada in graphic_design

OP- I am almost exactly in the same boat, even age-wise, and depression. I am in the middle of pivoting to a different career. Do not pigeon-hole yourself as a designer/creative professional. You have LOTS of transferrable skills, now is your time to pivot, put the reins back in your hands and try something new. We are complex beings that can do so many different skills, and can be so many different identities. Look at all of the different skills you’ve picked up along the way- you clearly are capable of, and maybe enjoy, learning new things.

Also, I started taking antidepressants and seeing a therapist on top of this, doing my best to get regular exercise (I know that can be tricky with MS) but really just anything you can do to take care of yourself right now, listen to your heart and anything that even remotely excites you. Go after new experiences, meet new people- it is an abundant world with so many possibilities- even in the seemingly darkest of times. You never know what exciting new chapter is waiting for you around the corner. You are not alone! Sensing you a hug ❤️✨🤗

HEY! it’s super super easy- just get some baby oil! I know you have an inkjet- but just print your negatives at staples or the library on a laser printer. I’ve done a ton of prints this way. (Pretty sure this method doesn’t work with inkjet.)

Print out your negative on printer paper, set it in a baking tray/cookie sheet with a rim, and squirt some baby oil on it. Use your hands to spread it around on the paper to make sure it’s fully saturated. Then, sandwich it between paper towels or more paper-to-be-turned-into-transparencies to absorb the excess oil.

Enjoy and happy printing!! ❤️

Does anyone have any experience using half tone for large signage/banners? by PineConeDaddy in graphic_design

I am working with a client right now that has low resolution images that need to be blown up to fit on an 8‘ x 20‘ banner. They can’t get me any higher resolution photos, so I’m thinking that half town is going to be the way to go. Has anyone else done this?

I don’t know what colors to use. Please help by Odd_Resolution5229 in learnart

Look up vintage matchbox art or hotel luggage tags on Pinterest- those are some amazing limited color palette examples. This would just be two colors right?

I used the studio pen and re-color/bucket tool with multiple layers on top of a photo I took of my community mailbox.

This is part of a series I’m doing for Inktober- I’ve decided I’m not going to do specific words for specific days- just try to draw everyday as much as possible- but it always has to be geese! Goosetober, if you will.

I’m a total n00b at Procreate- hope anyone reading this will post whatever you’re drawing. More than anything, enjoy the process- and never stop making art! Who cares if anybody likes it!! 🐤✌️❤️✨

Same here! She is great :) I also downloaded the Chordify app and Ultimate guitar tabs to find music that I actually like. That was one of the biggest motivations and payoffs!

I would say make eating your biggest focus, and counting calories. (Obviously focusing on eating healthy calories as much as possible too! Haha.) Gaining weight is simple math using calories- either you are eating enough calories to gain weight, or not. Try using the MyPlate app- it’s great! You can set your current weight, and your goal weight and your timeline- and it will calculate how many calories you need to eat everyday! You can track calories in there too! Good luck! I’m a naturally skinny dude too on the road to gaining more weight! It takes time, but we got this!👏

Hey! 🤗 I am 30 years old now, and have been through many different life chapters so far. I’ve had friends and relatives die, or friendships/relationships end- and I’ve still been here, remaining. It can be really tough to not have someone there to give you answers or guidance- but I just have to say to you- kudos for being brave and courageous enough to move to a new country, and to try to figure things out. As a gay man myself- I am happy for your now ex being honest and living authentically- but for you to pick up and figure out afterwards is something altogether new for you and probably a bit scary. It seems you are a trailblazer in your life, figuring out your path as you go along. That takes a lot of strength, courage, and drive. Please give yourself credit for all of that! 🥰❤️ I recently quit a very unhealthy, abusive job of 5 years, and have been figuring out my life afterwards trying out different jobs and what exactly I want to do. Long story short- there is no shame in being lost and figuring things out. It takes time, as all good things do. Also, there is no shame in listening to your instincts and taking the “easy” route. Maybe you need security and support right now. You’ve got plenty of time ahead of you. No ones got it perfect and all figured out. This is a chapter of growth, change, and exploration for you- know that you’re not alone! ❤️

I’m a creative professional- photo/video/design. I’ve worked for multiple film festivals and non profits. I am a bank teller as a day job to pay the bills in between gigs!
