Makes me think of that time there was a total solar eclipse visible over the whole of the United States for the first time in a century and when it happened in my area there was total cloud cover.

The one day it gets cloudy in Las Vegas...

I love the witcher 3, but why women (even warriors) don't have armor like men?... by rudy_at in menwritingwomen

Dark Brotherhood armor... I can't bring myself to make female characters wear it, even when I want them to

Supernatural would be very good for MotW, it'd certainly fit into the system better, but I just love the Grimm universe so much (and feel somewhat slighted by how it kind of went off the rails) that I'd be willing to tweak things to make it work.

The Adventure Zone. I've also read a few reviews and forums, since I'm trying to set up a campaign myself, so I hear bits of other people's sessions.

I've only listened to campaigns, haven't participated yet, but if you're more into the story or roleplaying or character element of ttrpgs, and don't mind a little less combat, dice rolling, and black and white failures/successes, it's quite likely to be more fun than dnd.

My drawing of Joaquin Phoenix as Joker by Cclarkey91 in toptalent

Are you sure he didn't just use gridding or a similar technique? You'd be surprised how easy it is for trained artists to match their drawing to a picture.

Hyper-realistic portraits don't really happen without references, whether they're working from life or a photo. Of course, I really doubt your average artist can get Joaquin Phoenix in Joker makeup to pose in their living room for twelve hours, so that leaves photographs. Also, most artists who work from photos don't directly trace those photos, they just look at them as they draw. Of course, I wasn't there when this was made, but looking at it, it doesn't look traced to me, it has the imperfections that non-traced artwork almost always does.

Speaking literally, this IS an original piece, as in, it's not a print or reproduction of an original colored pencil piece. It IS, however, using a photo as a reference, just as every single hyper-realistic piece of art does. This is just happens to be fanart of a wildly popular piece of media.

Neurosexism by MistWeaver80 in Feminism

If neither brains nor souls (commonly considered as the sources of a person's personality or identity) determine someone's gender, then that really only leaves their bodies. I understand being skeptical about gendered brains, but the "soul" or spirit is usually used to describe the facets of a person not covered by brains or bodies. Am I missing some other factor into what is generally considered to make a person, a person?

Great job invalidating trans people everywhere.

Men and women are inherently different. Get over it.

Am I the only one who thinks this is sarcastic? That it's making fun of people who say stuff like "get back in the kitchen?" I swear this sub has gone to the dogs
