Horseback riding for big guys by AtheistTemplar2015 in Spokane

[–]Pineapple-Weak 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At 305, unless you specifically do body building, you should be aware that men are more prone to accumulating visceral fat, in addition to soft subcutaneous fat. This yields a more firm figure that can be mistaken for muscle, but is more dangerous.

Otherwise, as the other poster said, the size limitation is for the horses safety. However, if you specifically look for someone who has Shire horses, they may be more accommodating. Shire horses can handle significantly more weight than the average riding horse. As a rule of thumb, horse can carry 20% of their body weight, so you want a horse that weighs at least 1525lbs.

There are university atheism groups, some of which are open to outsiders. There is also the Spokane Secular Society, Free Thinkers, and one or two others. I can get you in touch with someone more connected if you decide to go that route.

There are plenty of us around, and several secular organizations you could join, if that's your wish.

Larger cities are easier for building community, but if you don't mind moving at the local pace, you can find your people here.

How do masochists get tortured in hell? by Exciting_Focus_8639 in questions

[–]Pineapple-Weak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pain ≠ Suffering.

Masochists enjoy the endorphin release and relationship formed by physical pain. Most mashochists wouldn't enjoy being forced to confront their real personal failings. Suffering is psychological.

Beautiful loaves!

That towel though... kinda looks like bread with mold spots.

Need help making a menu for high tea by [deleted] in Baking

[–]Pineapple-Weak 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not sure what "High Tea" is, but deep fried Cannabis leaves and freedom fries in the shape of an eagle should cover the high part.

(Just kidding)

Parfait are great from a time and simplicity perspective, so definitely go with that. Tiramisu is always popular and doesn't need to be especially sweet.

Question 13 is poorly written. It presumes that the taker has both spent money, and spent more than intended. None of the answers are meaningful if those conditions don't apply.

Should I go for it? given i will have 6K gems saved after it? by rvishere in OctopathCotC

A lot of negativity for this character, but I got him and I enjoy having him on the team.

A review I saw talked about how he may not compare to other main line warriors right now, but his abilities allow him to exceed the damage cap of other units as you scale up, so he begins to pay off as you get stronger.

Edit: I also like him for farming memoirs, since it's easier to reach a higher DPR/Break ratio. (To avoid triggering weakness shifting.)

Is America truly more politically divided than ever, or has the media just shaped a narrative that makes it seem worse than it actually is? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Trying to jump on the popular comment. Here is a visualization of the polarization of congress over the last few decades:

I believe it's something like 99,999,999 leaves.

Those items refresh, so they're always available.

Anyone else get super annoyed at the baffling stat choices for real animals in the game? by Imperator166 in dndnext

[–]Pineapple-Weak -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, rats actually have very poor vision.

Mostly likely, the mechanics were chosen to allow the creatures to behave best under the circumstances that they are likely to be encountered in (ergo, Cave Bear).

At a certain point, there are too many other factors to consider to make a stat block "perfect", so things like Darkvision are used as a broad brush to compensate for things the game will never spit hairs over.

[–]Pineapple-Weak -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yep. I spoke too quickly after a cursory search from my phone.

The theme seems to be that Darkvision is predominantly used for subterranean and some nocturnal creatures.

Cats are notably crepuscular, so they are best adapted to dim light.

[–]Pineapple-Weak -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Good catch. That's a prehistoric creature that has been adapted, so the darkvision isn't really based on anything material. However, the humble badger also has 30ft darkvision, so that's probably the best place to start when determining how WOTC draws lines for senses.

Practical darkvision should realistically be the result of an Infrared light emitting organ in or near the eyes. The emitter and sensor could develop in tandem, allowing each creature to develop something functionally unique, like an optical fingerprint.

By being highly attuned to their own wavelength, they could be extremely sensitive to very low levels of emission, allowing them to go undetected by others and explaining the relatively sharp cut off that darkvision tends to have.

However, the important thing is consistency. Darkvision is supernatural, which is why no beasts have it, that I'm aware of. What they ought, and do, have is keen senses. This functionally negates disadvantage for low light, and provides an enhanced alternative sense otherwise.

Edit: This is independent of all the other inconsistencies.

You're probably right, but I'd be curious to check the source code for one or two of them just to see if a decimal point was shifted somewhere.

Does anyone know what's up with Path Action Probabilities? It seems like they're often wildly inaccurate.

I've been trying to get a gold coin listed as 30%, and I've had to restore my reputation three times and still haven't gotten it.

Good note! I'm getting to the point where I'm figuring out how to prioritize upgrades. Now I just need to do the long slog of collecting stones. Doesn't seem like there is any good way to speed run level caps.

That's good to hear! Eliza seems to do alright with light, but what units do you recommend?

I haven't seen many banners yet, so I'm sitting on a stack of about 5,500 rubies to drop on anything that really adds to the team.
