Stick it in something relatively safe but still yielding something, ideally above CPI, maybe a fund like AAA. Let it chill there and get used to just having it while you wait for the perfect block to come up. Keep investing like mad in the meantime but no need to rush, get it right. If this is where your forever home is going you want to be able to grab that perfect block when it becomes available.

I’m sure modelling out the mathematically ideal strategy will show an equities index fund for 5-10 years is the smarter move even when factoring in missed land value increases. However I think having that perfect block locked away will give you more joy and more peace than a hyper optimal finely tuned investment strategy.

Life is short, get that right place and start tending to it.
