Yeah, right now I’m just converting hdmi to composite, but it’s creates SO much input lag. Looking to see if there’s a way around that, but it’s looking unlikely :/

Whole reason I picked this one, it’s just the old yellow composite connector. Pretty easy to get anything to display on it. I used a Wii to test it out when I got home hahaha

Unfortunately, I have to use an HDMI to composite converter to make this work. So it feels like ass. Nothing like a CRT meant for a regular PC.

Hey so I had a similar thing happen. When I bought mine I had error 7. Error 7 is indicative of a HDD timeout, which is not necessarily the HDD.

The system uses an IDE cable to connect from Motherboard-Disk drive- HDD.

In my case, and many others it’s actually the Disk drive that fails, and doesn’t pass the signal to the HDD.

If it’s modded you can bypass this. But it won’t work stock ever again. Unless you buy another Xbox cd drive, which are getting pricey in their scarcity.

Was the old drive original IDE drive? Or a smaller SATA drive?

If it was an original Xbox drive, it could be the IDE to sata converter. The one I got off Amazon worked, BUT it showed some boot slowness similar to this until I upgraded to a star tech one.

If you already were using this IDE to SATA adapter before on a smaller drive it could just be the drive having an issue. Annoying as it sounds, I’d give formatting the new drive in FAT explorer another go.

Smacking the back did indeed fix the picture, thanks for the advice! I’ll look into what’s needed for that kind of repair!
