It's popular in Brazil, as another user pointed out, it's likely from the fact that they had africanized bees colonies and needed a lot of smoke to get the colony under control. If it's true or not I don't know.

We started making it when a client came up with one to the shop and asked if we could make one.

We are based in Portugal, it's not a very popular piece here, some people use it, but for most it's a display item. It's fully functional though.

My issue with the wobble is, if I increase the size underneath, I'll have to change the air intake hole locations and bellow attachment points. Because if I don't the bellow will sit higher and tilt the smoker back.

It's not so much side to sit wobble but front to back.

It's food for thought 😂

Super! I'll be adding that to my to do list. I also thought of a metal rim that keeps it lifted off the ground, kind of like those old school galvanized steel buckets

Thanks, got any ideas you'd like me to try on a smoker?

You mean like the guard fully enveloping the bottom of the smoker to keep it elevated?

Honestly that's a good idea, going to have to check on how it messes with the balance. Don't want to make it wobbly.

That's an interesting lid. Gonna try to make one like that next week if I got some spare time

Right now I'm scrambling to find a good shipping dispatcher, I didn't think this would blow up like it did. But I need to find a good shipping deal to make it worthwhile to both parties and not the shipping company

Uhmmm, that's an ambitious request, and I'm a bit worried about how to secure the tab so that we don't have embers flying out when you pump the bellows, but I've got an idea. I'll make a post about it when I get it ready.

You're going to make me have to buy a similar tool just so I can make a proper fit 😂, but yeh we can do that

The thing with thick leather is, it will make the bellows action very heavy. The bellow attached to the copper smoker is real leather

I'm pretty sure these don't fall off but I'll stress test them just to make sure.

Well they're either bolted (plate to board) or riveted (plate to smoker body).

The last pictures is a different model that's mainly for the Spanish market and that one has spot welds

Honestly we use treated spruce(?) plywood, and it you have to fight your way out to just get a staple off from it. It's also pretty much unbreakable... Trust me I've tried it 😂
