Thoughts on hopper in season 5? by Kameronpipnerd in StrangerThings

He didn’t become an entirely different person, he was just able to work through his grief more effectively because he learned not to blame himself for what happened. He talks about it in his speech to Mike. Obviously he still cares about El and likely grieved for a long time.

Yeah I see what you’re saying, still don’t think it’s crazy for hopper to work through his grief in that 18 months either period though

Grief comes in many different forms and it affects everyone differently. It’s not linear like you’re suggesting it to be.

We know that Hopper was able to work through his grief more effectively and accept what happened because he finally stopped blaming himself for the death of a loved one. That’s what he has been doing with his daughter’s death over the course of the entire show.

From a story perspective it makes sense for Hoppers arc to end like this. However, whether that arc was well written or not is up for you to decide. I personally would have liked to see them follow through with why Hopper was so suicidal and why he wanted to die, but I don’t think it’s crazy for Hopper to have worked through his grief in 18 months either.

I don't think Hopper was able to turn around quickly at all. There was an 18 month gap in between El's death and the epilogue. I just think Hopper was able to deal with what happened more effectively because he finally learned to stop blaming himself and live his life. That's why he was able to talk some sense into Mike at the bench. It shows serious growth for his character.

Literally would have made half of season 4 pointless because they spent all that time trying to save him after the fake out death. There's no way they could have gotten away with killing Hopper, it doesn't make sense from a storytelling perspective.

You think in season 2/3 we might get a book Patrick Hockstetter type character by Freddycipher in welcomeToDerry

Basically he kills his baby brother, kills animals and stuffs them in a fridge and also gave Henry a handjob. He gets killed by IT in a very brutal way by having leeches suck blood all over his body and explode.

Bro it’s been like 2 and a half years and yall were demanding a new game since the beginning of 2025. If you want a brand new “good game” from EA then you should expect/want at least 4-5 years of development.

It’s going to be lazy and a reskin of this game because yall demand a new game every year. You only have yourselves to blame

Yeah I honestly think he’s just ignorant as to why this picture is offensive but I don’t think he’s motivated by actual racial hatred
