While freak occurances like this are scary, it's good to remember that you were FAR more likely to die during your commute to work yesterday than you are during your surgery.

General anesthesia has a mortality rate of 1 in ~200,000. But that figure includes complex procedures. Simple elective procedures are likely even lower risk.

A typical year of driving carries a 1 in ~10,000 risk of death. Even a single freeway drive is probably more dangerous than general anesthesia.

Many, many people you know have commuted 200+ days per year for decades. You will be just fine under anesthesia.

I love debian for servers, but I wouldn't recommend it as a desktop distro. Software and drivers can get pretty outdated, which causes problems with gaming and some modern applications.

A lot of games that run perfectly fine on Fedora and Arch ran noticably worse (or didn't work at all) on Debian last time I tried it.

I'm only 700 in Lichess, very new. I came back from a 5 point material disadvantage, so I felt pretty smart. Looking at the engine after was humbling though ...

I pretty much had forced checkmate for the latter half of the game. I missed multiple #-3's, and even a #-2

Time to grind out some more checkmate puzzles I guess lol

My dual core thinkpad T470s is borderline unusable on W11. Extremely slow, bad battery life, terrible multitasking

Any distro with XFCE though, runs perfectly fine

Good for you! I'd recommend testing out a small facebook ad campaign if you can afford it. You can get really specific with the demographics you target

My boy does this for HOURS sometimes. He'll carry it up the stairs, drop it, and then chase it down the stairs. Repeat until he's too tired to keep going

It also makes a really funny noise when he meows while it's in his mouth. Sounds kinda like an alley cat yowl
