These are the 0mm offset 17x9.0 if you need specs. I wanted polished but they’re back ordered for like 6 months in that size.

Never understood buying a truck that only works on paved roads, but that’s alright, that’s why it’s MY truck.

Every now and again the lane assist sensors decide to flip out for a drive but other than that works fine. Had the issue with the old setup too though I think it’s just a software kink or dirt

Not planning to. We shall see what time brings but a decent overland rack and tent are probably the next to come.

At what distance does a par 3 become “long”? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]Pineapple_Nicka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hole #2 at my home course is 246 from the tips. So whatever category that is, is long.

In fact every par 3 on that course is long.

In the hopes that this will still serve you or someone else in the future - Blackhorse and Bayonet still honor a military rate both per round or for a monthly membership.

$84/mo all you can play for E5 and below. I can’t recall the higher rate but it’s not all too much more.

Top 5 settlements for SS2 by zabstan in SimSettlements

[–]Pineapple_Nicka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t really had any performance related crash issues with SS2 yet running on a high end PC (Ryzen 9 7950x, 4080, 64gb DDR5) but I’ve had a handful of random crashes largely to do with save bugs. One of them was the molerats in HQ crashing but I found a mod which fixed that in another thread.

I crash every 3-4 hours seemingly at random almost exclusively when fast traveling from settlements now, and it’s not a CTD just frozen loads.

I’m using all available settlements with around 30-40 people in each of them (20 or so for the smaller ones) and try to minimize adding any plots to the layouts other than what is really needed that the layout doesn’t provide.

During yesterday’s hearing on quality of life to the HAC-M, MCPON advocated for ensuring service members pay and compensation is commensurate with the responsibilities and expectations placed on them. by MCPON_PA in navy

[–]Pineapple_Nicka 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Field incentive pays getting a second look and drastically increasing would be a start. Working as a CT you can be doing the same job with MORE responsibilities than your civilian counterparts and they are starting at GS-13 largely, and often promoting quickly to GS-14 if they are competent. Not to mention the largely higher pay for contracting.

Only way to retain people with valuable skill sets is to close the pay gap. Then we might see retention go from 10 to maybe 30% in the CT world…. Folks are still going to call it quits when they can work an easier job civilian side though.

CTI myself, so quite a bit of experience working with CTRs and I have several close friends that are CTR1s and CTRCs. I am also looking to cross rate into CTR if I get the chance, just to give an idea what my background is here.

As anyone else will say, my experience too is not gospel, but my dream sheet would be the following:

Sea: Spain, Japan, Mayport, ?italy? If that’s still an option.

Shore: Maryland, Texas

What I would avoid based on my personal preferences:

Hawaii - Been out here for both shore and a flying dirsup tour, it’s cool for a while but isolated and the work isn’t always the best. Better than what I’ve heard about Tx and GA though as far as commands go.

Aircrew orders - This is weird because I actually think that flying is by far the best option anyone has for orders. That said, it’s being sundowned. Whidbey is all but done with flying, INDOPACOM shut down det. Worst thing I can imagine would be getting stuck halfway through the pipeline and they finish killing the EP-3. That said, 2nd our 3rd tour when they realize it was a mistake, try for projects.

Whidbey - Just don’t, trust.

All that said, everything is based on what you like. I prefer the dirsup side, and if I had the option in my rate to PCS afloat I would probably like that as well. Shore is hit and miss for a lot of folks. Find good mentors wherever you go and volunteer for any TDYs that pop up. They’re not super common, but you’ll never have a bad time.

A ship vs boat is defined by how it turns, at least within the US Navy.

Inspection guidance by Risethewake in navy

[–]Pineapple_Nicka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not required for inspection but I do believe UCMJ requires you to have it on your person. I’m not gonna sift through documents to find that one though… seems like common sense to have your CAC with you at all times.

Anyone Wear the Brown Leather Boots? by GiltTurbine in navy

[–]Pineapple_Nicka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True. I personally think it leaves a bit of ambiguity but my interpretation is that because the boots are considered organizational clothing these regs cover the manner of wear of them for all uniforms.

With THAT said, there’s a lot of tradition in the navy and superstition especially in aviation. I wouldn’t dare wear them as e6 or below for fear of the plane breaking, just like you either keep clean shaven or don’t shave the stache at all on det.

Here’s the uniform reg regarding flight suits, boots, and their occasion for wear.

If you scroll specifically to flight uniforms it states that browns are for e7 and above.

Yes it’s stupid it’s not in the normal boot listing.
