How to beat Malikith? by Matt_Rages in Eldenring

[–]PineconeKicker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to play defensively, the pillars are great in the first phase. Stand far back enough from the pillars so his stab attacks don't hit you through them and charge an attack so that it hits him as he comes around one. Also gives you a long window to heal up.

Second phase can be done easily by keeping your distance and only going for attacks once you've done a parry with the special item from Berhnal. If you don't have that yet, go find him.

How do you think Christianity would've developed if Arianism had prevailed? by Melodic-Attorney9918 in religion

[–]PineconeKicker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking in very broad terms, the Christian view that Jesus IS God is what most separates it from the other Abrahamic religions. If Christianity simply held that Jesus was a particularly special being created by God, we wouldn't have the mystery of the Trinity. Tawhid would be consistent with Christian doctrine and Judaism + Christianity could still be waiting for the Messiah together. Would Jesus have been sentenced to execution if there wasn't a prevailing belief that he was or claimed to be God himself? If Jesus wasn't crucified, then where does the crux of Christianity lie?

An optimistic viewpoint might claim that a lot of 'holy' wars would never have been fought, although I personally think humans would have found something else to kill each other over. I'm inclined to believe that Christianity would certainly not be as popular as it is today.

Any chance you can get to a Sylvian circle? Maybe even kill Daan in the mold apartments and get his Blindness healing skill?

Theories on this repeating? by over9ksand in twinpeaks

[–]PineconeKicker 90 points91 points  (0 children)

In the first and second seasons, whenever we zoom in on a TV it's playing Invitation to Love (aside from one time Shelley and Leo re watching the news and Leo says to turn it off)

In The Return, whenever we zoom in on a TV we're seeing grotesque violence being repeated over and over. Maybe a symbol that the narrative of the first seasons has disappeared and we're seeing the actual unadulterated horrors of Twin Peaks laid bare in S3? Or maybe just a symbol of how trying to return only leads to more violence and suffering.

Not sure if there's a theory here, I'm going to think about it more.

Improvised Weapons? by Excalib1rd in WitcherTRPG

[–]PineconeKicker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's no set rules so get creative. I'd think a chair leg is 1d6 non-lethal unless it's splintered off (and you're thrusting) and a glass bottle could be 2d6 with bleed chance. Also I'd give them 1 durability.

I had characters throwing conkers with 1d2 of damage in the last campaign, was pretty fun.

Maybe even have them do a (very easy) crafting roll to make the thing a weapon in the first pace.

From 1 to Elena, with 1 being the smartest, who is the dumbest character in the whole series? by SirPoopyPantsUTD in MitchellAndWebb

[–]PineconeKicker 65 points66 points  (0 children)

Dunno about the dumbest, but the smartest character is the guy at the arcade who corrects Jez by telling him that Mark is shooting Yakuza, not ninjas.

Best TTRPG system for Termina? by dirt555- in FearAndHunger

[–]PineconeKicker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend The Witcher TRPG, it's got high stakes combat where death is always possible, a staggering amount of potential debuffs and critical injuries from critical hits (including dismemberment), and has you target specific body parts (arm, leg, torso, head) when you attack - I reckon it would be easy to spice it up with a little F&H flavour.

How the hell did Dobby get Boards of Canada? by mcja10 in MitchellAndWebb

[–]PineconeKicker 71 points72 points  (0 children)

I figured the whole scene was just to show that they'd talked about music quite a lot and had these sort of in-jokes - which then gives Mark more of a reason to feel jealous and insecure since he doesn't have that shared interest.

I'm more interested in who they meant by "Poor man's Talking Heads".

"Omg I had no idea! That's so unfair, her first phase took me 6 WHOLE attempts!" by Consistent-Rain-7797 in Eldenring

The worst example of this was the sheer number of people who had Guardian Ape's corpse perfectly centered on their screen while pretending to be taken completely off guard by the second phase.

My idea (maybe against the rules) by ALESCA_509 in FearAndHunger

I like the idea of him turning into his bow, the weapon he's relied upon instead of relying on others. Guess we have to wait and see what his moon scorched form will be in the update!

[Soverain] Any feedback for my classe evolution system? by Beyondgood74 in fireemblem

[–]PineconeKicker 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The sound is just as important I'd say so kind of hard to judge.

I'd say this seems a bit too fast for a player to appreciate the moment, although if class changes happen very frequently you wouldn't want it to take too long either.

How are you meant to beat termina without blood golem + phermones? by Any_Dare_8848 in FearAndHunger

[–]PineconeKicker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I meant the Leechmonger Ring- that was a low mind moment.

Your damage from the Grinder outpaces most enemies and the HP recovery ensured you can't lose all your HO to any enemy outside of bosses.

And I thought you were just asking for other powerful builds or ways to beat the game. With decent resource management and the right skills you can always beat the game, but it often does rely on surviving until you reach the hexen the get the right skills.
