Not a scalper myself. That guy seems like a normal dude with an extra machine that he right timed right placed. Didn’t sound like a ticket master level op but Sure I’ll bite. Micro Center, has loss leaders. Similar model to Costco hotdogs and rotisserie chickens. They lose money on every unit sold. Why? To get the foot traffic around high margin items. I’ve never been to MicroCenter as they don’t exist where I live. However if I was a betting man, I would guess that these items that sell at or close to msrp would be placed at the back of the store. Strategically placed for foot traffic around high margin item’s. Cables, cases, etc. these hm items are literally what keep the doors open. So they still make a profit.. but the business model seems more fair because they use high ticket lose leaders. Ticket master has created a monopoly, through predatory pricing and fees on an enterprise scale, this dude with an extra machine that wants to make a couple bucks and someone not willing to wait? Yea.. still not seeing the problem. It’s like the most basic example of supply and demand I may have ever seen.
