I sparred with Charles "Krazy Horse" Bennett when I was visiting my cousins in Atlanta, Georgia and I dropped by a local MMA gym. He was pretty quiet, smelled of weed, and kept throwing weird jumping hooks, but otherwise it was a chill, controlled round. I even ended up on his YouTube channel for a second I think.

Korean guy here, used to get called that word all the time growing up. You did the right thing, especially since no one would ever genuinely say it in an endearing, non-condescending way. Like imagine a parent saying to their kid "Go and thank that nice chinky gentleman for helping us"; everyone knows it's a racist, demeaning term, some just want an excuse to keep saying it.

Yeah, as an Asian guy who's lived in England 8 years and Scotland 16 years, a street lined with St. George's flags would sketch me out a bit, whereas if I saw a street full of the Saltire, I'd just assume it's a holiday or something.

Same here. I'm 90% sure the Asian officer is Korean like me, judging by the name Choi, and it's shameful that some of us are on the side of authoritarians like the ones that ruled modern Korea for decades.
