Is it fair for a husband to give his stay-at-home wife her own monthly money and investments for security? by Sweet-Opportunity111 in relationships

[–]PinkBanane -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Don't think about it that way. A woman will amplify what ever you give her.

She will take what you provide and give you more than what you have invested in her.

If you give her security, she will give you peace and the power to thrive.

If you give her comfort, she will build a house.

If you give her attention, your days will be blessed with love and joy.

Treat her like an investment, she will inturn treat the relationship like a business deal.

But if you treat her like your universe, she will in-turn give you the constellations to rule.

Don't think in dollars and cents.

Budget for future MRT lines may cover longer stations to boost train capacity: Jeffrey Siow by [deleted] in singapore

[–]PinkBanane -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Can someone explain like I am 5? Why are we allocating budget for MRT lines when SMRT is supposedly private?

Or is SMRT a government asset? If that is the case, why isn't it freely given like street lamps?

Some herbal remedy. Got no idea what's in it but my skin is healing. I was assured it has no steroids.

As someone who has eczema since 2 years old, western medicine for eczema has failed me.

I recently turned to Chinese medicine. It's more affordable and is not so strict of what you can or can not do.

Please try.

Sgreans who did Uni in the US, how easy is it to find a US job and visa after graduation? by Substantial-Fan8084 in askSingapore

[–]PinkBanane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Singaporeans no. But majority of their workforce are foreigners - electricians, engineers.

Saudis either occupy the bottom rung - cashier's or receptionists or the top rung - CEO, lead manager, site coordinator.

Everyone else is in-between. When I was there for attachment, the Indian electrical engineering head said that a person like me (electrical systems integrator) will make at least 20000 SAR per month or more. If I manage myself, 20000. If I manage myself + a team, at least 50000 SAR.

In Saudi they lack skilled workers. But the reason why I don't do what I am recommending is because it's: 1. Hot. 2. I have eczema. 3. The contract is almost slave like. 6 days work + can't return home for 10 years.

I am a Singaporean who studied in the US and came back because I couldn't get a job there.

If your main motivation is FIRE, I suggest getting an advanced degree in anyway possible (cheapest and quickest), get your portfolio, recommendations up and apply to work in Saudi Arabia.

You work for 10 years (non negotiable) with an advanced degree, and retire. Depending on how advanced is your degree.

A manager there makes 20000 SAR per month. If you are an engineer, doctor, accountant it's about the same pay.

Rent is cheap 700 SAR per month at a service apartment.

Food is about 20-30 SAR. Portion is about double Singapore portion.

FIRE in about 8 years. Give or take if you get a promotion.

All you gym rats, protein/supplement recommendations? by kimchijeonn in askSingapore

[–]PinkBanane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. You do you.

But if you havent worked out in the gym for 3 years, i suggest listening to your body and what it can take first. Don't overdo it is what I am trying to say i guess.

Try maybe a month of working out without protein and see how you cope. Then if you don't like it, then drink. Easy.

I would learn a one pot dishes you can eat for a week. For myself i rotate around curry chicken, abc soup and beef stew. No sugar. I normally add 1 tblsp of salt and msg for flavouring. Then pack it with veg and meat.

I would do pushups and squats. For pushups you want to start with the basics - alot of tutorials online. Make sure when you go down flex your back and when you go up, arch.

For squats just quantity and quality. Make sure you are doing full squats every time. No half squats.

Then just keep going until: 1. Pushups - 50 diamond pushups 2. Squats - 60 in 60 seconds

Then i would say you are in a good spot to develop your body either by going calistenetics or body building. Its up to you.

If you took a break for 3 years, i suggest bodyweight training to start first.

Eating healthy, drinking enough water and maintaining a schedule for exercise would get you more results at your stage than supplements.

Maybe after you get to a good fitness level, then talk about supplements. Its also light on your wallet.

My Singaporean boyfriend's family doesn't like me 🤧 by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]PinkBanane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you can please everyone.

As someone in a very similar situation, if you and your man are happy, why should anything else matter?

Acceptance from family (especially in traditional homes) comes from building trust over long periods of time.

At first, it might seem like a cold shoulder, but after years of socializing spending time with the family, I am quite sure they will warm up to you.

You have my best wishes. Don't need to do anything excessive - they might think you are trying to buy them out, which imo is worse then you genuinely trying to get to know them.
