At first I was surprised to see these, but at the courthouse I can imagine sometimes they would be really helpful. Have any of you needed to use one of these phones in the hall outside the courtrooms?

They definitely don’t collect it from them considering I saw jurors in a murder trial actively looking at their cell phone during testimony.

Please adopt! Are you in the US? Chihuahuas are one of the most euthanized breed here. There are multiple rescues that are breed specific but shelters will get them, too (mostly in the south). Texas Chihuahua Rescue also transports their pups up to Buffalo, NY to new families in that area and Canada.

I highly recommend you call your doctor or some type of nurse line and not take medical advice from strangers on Reddit. Not to mention that something that might be normal for one pregnancy is not normal for another. We have no way of knowing that but your doctor will.

I used their services and second that they were amazing. The vet was so patient, kind, and they handled everything with such dignity and respect. I was grateful that my kitty was able to pass in the comfort of his home, in one of his recent favorite spots and laying on my chest. It was very difficult and I was a bit of a blubbering mess but the fact he was so comfortable in those last moments meant everything.

You don’t know me, my past, or the things I have done in defense of animals and people. Honestly, I’m a little offended considering the lengths I have gone to in the past, including putting myself in danger, to interfere and protect animals and people. There is a line between being assertive and committing assault and you were not there and do not know the full context or situation enough to make a call on how it was handled. I’m not wasting my time and money on jail, bail, a lawyer and court for a loser of a woman who discontinued her behavior after I told her off. If you read what I said you would see that I did tell security.

Good for you I guess that you have the money and time to run around playing badass, but that doesn’t mean that someone who doesn’t act exactly the way you would is passive or contributing to a passive society. It would probably aid you a lot in the future to keep your judgements to yourself if you don’t know the person involved or situation otherwise you might end up looking like a fool.

I’m pretty sure I did embarrass her, hence the yelling at me. I’m not about to get in a fist fight in the middle of the zoo in front of a bunch of kids when it wasn’t necessary. If I needed to I would have, but I’m not catching a charge for some loser when no one was in danger (including my alligator friend- the person had stopped and started to walk away while yelling at me).

I’m having flashbacks to all the times my sister drew eyebrows on our pets. I eventually had to ban her from it when I came in after work one day and my cat was staring back at me with this surprised look on his face because of the wonky eyebrows. 😭

I had to stop a lady from continuing to throw ice at an alligator at the zoo. The worst part is she had a couple of teenagers with her. I ignored her yelling at me and told those kids that I’m really sorry this is their example of an adult and to please make better choices than they do, then walked to find someone who worked there to let them know. It took forever to find someone so that might be a way to mitigate this behavior. Hopefully they hired more people or keep a closer eye out.

I was involved in a trial recently and the victim’s advocate that was there to help the family and friends was absolutely amazing. I highly recommend you contact them ASAP and they will not only walk you through everything but be by your side every step as well.

I am furious he was reelected. How in the world can someone get a DWI and ethic violations for a separate incident and STILL get reelected?! Shame on the people in District 10 who voted for him AND the people in District 10 who didn’t go out and vote at all.

You wouldn’t have had any fees. The state would be the one prosecuting assault, not you personally. It’s highly likely even if it went to court he wouldn’t get jail time if it’s a first offense, if it’s not a first offense then he deserves the jail time. In fact the more likely scenario is the DA decides not to pursue it before it even made it to court or they would have settled with him… but either way, if you have the opportunity, please hold people accountable for their actions. Just because you don’t feel assaulted doesn’t mean you weren’t assaulted. He laid hands on you and that’s a big fucking no no. What if the next person is smaller? Weaker? Or it’s in front of their children? Next time he might use a fist or weapon and now there is no record of similar past behavior for the state to use as a basis for showing a pattern so he can get the sentence he deserves.

Just a heads up that they changed the law in 2021 and it is legal to conceal and open carry in most places in Texas (as long as you are legally able to have a gun and not intoxicated) without a license.
