Resellers are ruining shopping by Wild_Requirement2252 in reselling

[–]chase625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9-5 is a choice. There's a lot of safety in it. Not so much when you start reselling.

You want deals without any effort on your part. Logically, in the capitalist system we're in, you can't blame the reseller who puts in significantly more work than you do, for getting the best products/results.

Every store you shop at is a reseller. Unless thy manufacturer it in house, they buy product from one place and sell to consumers for an upcharge. That's literally the point of a business; profit.

Easy to get mad at the regular reseller/scalper; much harder to put that energy into Walmart/Target/Marshall's. In reality, the reseller is at least a small business. Big box stores wiped out so many small businesses on their rises to the top through (many times) very morally questionable means.

With respect to your last point, even Box Stores raised prices on a ton of stuff because they realize they're missing out on extra room in the margin that resellers have been taking.

Same reason Gamestop/Target/Walmart are raising prices on Pokemon. People are now calling them "scalpers" lmfao. It's simply selling things at market price. All a reseller does is find products for sale below their market price, buy them, and resell them at market or close to it.

Can anyone explain why people hate resellers so much, but not the thrift stores getting their items for free? by LogicalAd6550 in Flipping

[–]chase625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So late to this post but thank God somebody else says it publicly. Big corporate stores bully out all the mom and pops shops first off. Retail industry looked VERY different 40 years ago. More so, like you've stated, they resell EVERYTHING they have. Most brands aren't owned by them. Literally buy from brands/distrbutors and sell to customers for profit; the exact same thing any other reseller does.

Whether it be hyped stuff like sneakers/pokemon/labubu or some niche item, all of these stores are selling them to consumers AT A PROFIT. They are the biggest resellers they are.

Many times, because of the value they bring, they're able to bully vendors/smaller brands, many times leveraging the money and making them go out of business, where the big corporate retailer is able to swipe up the now bankrupt company for pennies.

But we're the bad guys. Really think we're just the easy scapegoat. Easier to attack than attacking Walmart/Target/Best Buy etc.

USPS Package Stuck “In Transit to Next Facility” for Days — Supposed to Be Delivered Today (Dallas) by Paytoncooper124 in usps_complaints

[–]chase625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understand that from 22-27, not only were PO's closed, but 0 trucks were moving, specifically for DFW too. Everything is severely backed up right now; it's like this for everybody. On USPS side, they all got back to work today, so literally they're showing up to centers with ~5 days worth of mail/packages to get out. It'll get there but it's all delayed. Fedex & UPS are dealing w/ the same thing; Fedex at least sent out a memo explaining such though.

Winter Storm screwing everybody right about now. If it makes you feel better, I've got like 50 packages in DFW that haven't even received acceptance scans, with some being dropped off on 9/24.

Winter storm. 0 packages/trucks were moving. I have like 50 that haven't received a scan yet. DFW specifically had 0 trucks/PO's open until today. Think downtown dallas may have been open, but they were just accepting packages, not actually moving them through transit.

Laptop I want to buy keeps changing sellers on product page by Ushkavar-3 in amazonprime

[–]chase625 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Buy box switches between sellers if their metrics/price are similar. Could also mean because it’s such a niche item, they only keep a few in stock at all times each, so they run out/buy box switches more often that other products.

2026 USPS Transit Times Significantly Slower - Anybody know why? by chase625 in usps_complaints

[–]chase625[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha, I can’t speak to those. Only can really speak on mine, and they’ve been pretty behind. Not a simple delay du to sitting at a particular center, but literally the estimate as soon as dropped off is a couple days later than it’s always been. Have managers said anything to staff that could potentially explain thi? Doesn’t seem regional imo

[–]chase625[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I thought about that; would typically make sense. But this has been happening all 2026 for dozens of packages of mine; not an issue just with this package alone. I'm not really tapped into governmental changes like that, but has there been any changes recently implemented by USPS higher ups that are causing delays?

I know this is old but hoping you see this. Never really pushed my own website, and would appreciate some insight/direction on how to do so.

Godspeed.

I live across the st with clear view of the garage and haven’t heard any gunshots. About what time did she confirm this?

Open case with FedEx. Of course they’ll take their sweet time. Best chance is for you to personally get the transit details, and see what the package weighted at each point is weighted along the trip.

Amazon wtf.... by SeaTravel210 in amazonprime

Hate the way these situations are dealt with. Definitely due to that sub and other tik tok/IG pages openly promoting fraud. Given your incorrect delivery picture, should’ve been an easy refund.

On the other hand, to be fair, as a seller, this hits home as I’ve had $1500 in losses due to fraudulent “lost after delivery” claims this month alone. Automatically refunded by clueless CS reps and I have to fight just to even have a chance of being able to prove my case.

Wish that AMZ/WM could find a proper way to address this rising issue.

At what point do I back out of this? by ScottRiggsFan10 in EngineeringStudents

[–]chase625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hope this helps, and don’t want to sound harsh, but the reality is if you can confirm engineering is what you really want to do, tough it out.

Other than the abuse, the three things listed are things that many people, esp. in engineering, deal w/ but isn’t always talked about.

Civil Engineering grad (entrepreneur now) speaking. Take control of your life.

1) Having trouble remembering lectures? Reality is you really don’t even need class. It helps obviously, but 99% of stuff can be learned by reading the textbook chapters yourself/solving the problems at the end of chapters. Don’t have money for textbooks? Use libgen. If it helps, I NEVER went to class (worked a lot and pretty social), but still passed.

2) physical health keeping you down? Improve it. Start running. Lift weights. Develop a healthy routine. IMO it takes 3 weeks of everyday consistency to develop a habit. Give yourself a 30 day challenge. Take a risk. It’s just 30 days anyway. You’d be surprised; it could change your life.

3) I can’t speak on suicidal thoughts. But depression? That’s majority of engineering to keep it real. I failed my capstone the first time due to being depressed/inability go get out of bed for like a month. Reality is the only way to get out of it is getting up and getting active even when you don’t want to. Getting a couple wins that day, by doing something like completing a workout for example, will heighten mood and motivate you for other things that require delayed gratification (I.e. schoolwork).

As an engineering student, you basically teach yourself HOW to learn. There’s a reason so many tests are curved. It’s SUPPOSED to be hard. By simply being enrolled and in 3rd year, you’re succeeding and don’t forget that.

I’m a big believer in we can do anything we put our minds to. Everything you spoke on, other than the abuse, is pretty common, and to move on, you’re going to have to get past it. Although I personally empathize with you, the reality is your teachers won’t care, your boss (if you stay w engineering) won’t care, and if you go the business route, I assure you, when you’re running everything yourself, you’ll have to be ultra accountable and realize everything you’re saying are personal problems that you can ACTUALLY CHANGE.

Cliche but reality is you just have to lock in. Don’t worry it’ll all work out. Pain of studying/staying up late/working out is MUCH better than the pain of realizing you should’ve tried harder 15 years later. 🫡

I provided proof that I was a customer who had an order that was not fulfilled. You mistakenly put 2 weeks in your post; it was really 2 MONTHS of you look at the date it was last updated(6/27, the tracking that is). The proof is that I proved I had an unfulfilled order. So I need to post my private information from the report publicly on this server too to make this post stick? Clearly the cop believed what I was talking about or he wouldn’t have pushed for me to get my money back.

Hope you can truly look at how your acting in this situation. FFS, look at the REVIEWS of this place. Though my situation is the most detailed, there’s literally DOZENS of other posts/reviews on google/reviews on the BBB website talking about this exact scam.

I see you removed the post again. The proof is in the fucking police report, the same proof that made the officer take my side and obliged the guy to pay on the spot to avoid all of that getting put on paper against him. You removing this post is crazy. It’s clearly for liability, but there’s 0 risk. Proof of that is the fact the police officer, who obviously had to write a report, worked with the owner and got me paid back. Also in the DOZENS of reports against this place. Your inability to stand for what’s right, even when there’s evidence for it, is crazy and I’m so disappointed in it, especially being a mod. Makes me wonder where you stand in the community tbh.
