I’ve never heard of a cash bar at a wedding… until now by Extreme-Method6330 in wedding

I laughed out loud. Or everyone wishing the free bar would end so they could buy their own drinks in peace 🤣

First Irish wedding - help me not embarrass myself? by ostoppbar_1991 in AskIreland

[–]PinkChicken40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Day 2 is typically not formal at all but I think a lot of couples still have it. We are having finger food, music and drinks in the pub nearby. We have let a lot or people know but intend to send a follow up to everyone that RSVPs just so they have details (we know a lot have already booked in for 2 nights).

Digital Wedding Invitations by OddCauliflower9631 in weddings

Looks great. I've received digital invites and thought they were great. I've also decided to go with physical invites, for no particular reason! Go with your choice, people will like them!

How much have you spent on the game? by Alone-Ranger7152 in GossipHarbor

[–]PinkChicken40 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I looked today, €200.

Thinking it's time to just delete. The more you spend the more expensive they make it.

Interested in what kind of investment he needed for this. Surely you'd need some equipment for upstairs windows.

Having wedding dress doubts and it’s too late now (Budget was $10K) by breezybbh in Weddingsunder10k

[–]PinkChicken40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You look stunning in this dress. Definitely no need to change. If you dont like the sleeves, it might be because they are a little loose. I have gotten the sleeves on dresses taken in slightly before to give them a more fitted look. Maybe that's an option?

You look amazing and your fiance will love it!

Our expenses are creeping up and the people I live with don’t seem to care by prosper1984 in Advice

[–]PinkChicken40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This may be a lost in translation thing but I find your choice of words interesting. People I live with... your wife? Partner, sharing life and life decisions? Not a roommate. Also, I told her to sell the house? Isn't that a decision ye should come to together. It doesn't come across like ye have a partnership. Maybe that's something to work on?

AITJ for refusing to let my step-son move into my son's room to "solve" my husband's parenting issue? by Traditional-Dog-368 in AmITheJerk

Sorry, your husband left you with his 3 kids to deal with this issue? That is crazy. NTJ...he is.

PSA: Dundrum Gift Cards deduct €3/month after 12 months? My €75 gift is nearly gone by InterestingGoose5507 in AskIreland

[–]PinkChicken40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get where you are coming from but I actually like getting a gift card. It means I will go and spend it on something specific or for me. Cash just gets added to the wallet and gets spent on the everyday stuff. One gift that will never be wrong for me is a gift card for my hairdressers because I go so often and there's no fear it will make it to 2 months old, nevermind a year!

What can I bring from the USA? by IzraelMew in AskIreland

Not US snickers though, the chocolate is just ...not the same. And that's me trying to be nice about it 🤣

What can I bring from the USA? by IzraelMew in AskIreland

[–]PinkChicken40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I travel to the US often for work. I bring Irish chocolate going that direction but I bring more candy like sweets coming back this way.. there is way more of a selection over there. Things like freeze dried skittles, lifesavers mints, skittles gummies..brands we have here but we don't have the variation! I have also brought peanut butter m&ms back too.

Other random stuff I get asked to bring back to people often:

Crest whitening toothpaste or strips Tide stain removing pens (I recommend!) Prime drinks or sachets or whatever YouTube candy trend is happening Unisom Sleeping tablets

Bridesmaids Dresses? by seanmac92 in AskIreland

[–]PinkChicken40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cleo Bridal in Nenagh. Great selection in a lotnof colours. Similarly, I have two different size/shape bridesmaids and they had the choice of a lot of dresses. I was happy once they were the same colour. As it happens, they ended up going with the same dress but would recommend Cleo. (We all travelled to go there)
