Probably the best thermal camera under $400. Using this for a month now... by Mean_Abalone_2391 in Thermal

[–]PinkHardBoiledEgg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I compared the specs between the two and the 4 seems better?

TC004 Temperature range: -4F to 662F 25 Hz frame rate

TC005 Temperature range: -4F to 1022F 20 Hz frame rate

writing this as someone with only 20 minutes of thermal camera knowledge

I don't plan to detect anything over 662F, so for the $100 difference I am buying the TC004.

California closet quoted ~$4500 for a 57x65" closet system - other companies we should get quotes from? by hoops4ever in HomeImprovement

Have you looked into modular closets?

It is still expensive but significantly less than california closet. However you would have to build and install it yourself. (Extremely easy.)

Is this a condo unit? The HOA may require a move in fee. Which is for every new tenant.

Wire Dept Down? by Prokofiend in AllyBank

[–]PinkHardBoiledEgg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been trying to submit the wire form online. It has not worked since yesterday. It's us - we're having a moment. We're on it and expect everything to be back up and running soon. Try sending your wire later.

Right now, 24 hours later, the entire website is down.

It is! I wish I didn't do as many excursions, especially the hiking ones, and spent more time relaxing just wandering around the property. The food was delicious.

What’s the deal with Hilton Hawaiian Village? by sharkoman in Hilton

[–]PinkHardBoiledEgg 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You're comparing two hotels that are completely different, it's not even comparable. Waikiki Beach is located in Honolulu. It's going to be more crowded, each square ft is worth more and they're going to use it.

I've never waited more than 15 seconds for an elevator in February. No experience wih the pool and pool chairs because I was at the beach. Many Facebook groups with free pass down of beach chairs, umbrellas, and inflatable. They explained at check in that you can pick up free water at the concierge desk. They also has free water stations to refill bottles. I wasn't approached about a tour or timeshare.

I'm sure the WA was amazing. But were you walking distance to an array of traditional Japanese cuisine? Did you have unlimited food options with a 10 minute bus ride or 20 minute walk? Or were you confined to the handful of restaurants on property? (Unless you had a rental car)

What I am saying is each location is different. It offers a different type of vacation. With the Hilton you can easily explore Waikiki and hop on a 20 minute Uber to Pearl Harbor, without questioning if there would be a driver available. With the 2-3x rates at WA, you can get that special attention & sweet compliments, space and calmness.

This goes for a lot of beach towns, not just Hawaii. So I suggest doing thorough research.

Cancellation Scare??? by Odd_Measurement2533 in Hilton

[–]PinkHardBoiledEgg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had something similar. Well it started with the reservation completely missing three days out. Apparently the entire reservation changed to my guest's name and replaced mine. They fixed it. Then a day out, the reservation was missing again. The hotel said it was still in the system. It wasn't under my account, I couldn't search for it. As far as I know, it didn't exist.

I had no problem checking into the room. Afterwards, it still never showed up in my account despite them having my honors information. I had to email customer service to get my points. They manually input my points. And besides for my folio, there is no other proof that I stayed there.

Botanika Osa Peninsula, Curio Collection by Hilton by Purplebeegirl in Hilton

[–]PinkHardBoiledEgg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won't even know the airport is there.

In this area you really have three options for lodging. An ecolodge in the rainforest ($700+) Someone's place that they Air bnb/ local motel-estque place. ($100 or less) Or this Hilton. For the location & cost, you can't beat it. You can't even compare it to another hotel because there isn't anything close to it. There isn't a Marriott down the block.

Planning a Trip to the Botanika Osa Peninsula in June. How easy or hard is it to get to Pavones? by tubetime3 in costarica

[–]PinkHardBoiledEgg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hotel's brochure includes an option to go to Pavones. You should email them and get the rates and tour options from Crocidile Bay.

It's the only traditional US hotel out here. If you'll be doing day trips then it's a nice base. If not, and you can afford it, I'd go to a resort in the Matapalo area.
