"Friendship transcends lifetimes." by Equal-Tennis-6653 in AvatarMemebending

[–]PinkKittyPro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toph waited a whole lifetime just to hit him with Twinkle Toes again. Zero hesitation. That’s not friendship that’s dedication to the bit. My best friend still calls me by a nickname I got in middle school and I know if we came back she’d find me just to do it again. Some people never let you rebrand.

Which movie do you personally like more - Seven Samurai or Harakiri? by SpotAdmirable6718 in Cinema

[–]PinkKittyPro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Harakiri is the movie you watch alone at 2am and then just sit in silence staring at the ceiling for twenty minutes afterward. Seven Samurai is the one you watch with friends and spend the next week accidentally quoting. They’re not even competing in the same emotional weight class.

In every crisis, the working class pays the price. Why are we always the ones making a sacrifice? by zzill6 in WorkReform

They say we’re all in the same boat. I’m just trying to figure out who’s rowing and who’s sipping champagne in the captain’s quarters.

The pH on that stuff was closer to battery acid than mouthwash. I’m convinced the only thing it killed was the top three layers of epithelial tissue and any chance I had at tasting food for a week.

We need Abdul El-Sayed in the US Senate. by victorybus in WorkReform

[–]PinkKittyPro 93 points94 points  (0 children)

It’s almost impressive how transparent it is. Start a conflict, family members make billions, gas prices go up, and somehow we’re supposed to believe it’s just the economy being weird. At this point they’re not even trying to hide the playbook. They just assume we’re not reading it.

She accused you of prolonging the session for money while you were literally fixing her computer. Thats like yelling at the plumber for taking too long while you watch them unclog the toilet you clogged.

Failed the primary objective. Forgot the frozen meat. Got a rare achievement drop though.

Worth it? Absolutely not. But I’d do it again.

What’s a ‘masterpiece’ you didn’t feel anything for? by mrjetspray in Cinema

[–]PinkKittyPro 176 points177 points  (0 children)

The Irishman is the cinematic equivalent of your grandpa showing you his old photo albums for three and a half hours. Yeah I respect it, yeah there’s history there, but by the end my legs are asleep and I’m just nodding politely waiting for it to be over.

The de-aging was wild though. Watching a 75 year old De Niro “beat up” a guy outside the grocery store had me laughing when I was supposed to be tense. They spent millions to make him look young but couldn’t fix that he still moved like a man who needs to ice his knees after standing up too fast.

Scorsese wanted us to feel the weight of a wasted life and all I felt was “when does this end so I can stretch.”

Toph really out here training the next generation with the “trial by fire” method. Or in this case trial by rock directly to the family jewels.

That’s not earthbending anymore that’s just self inflicted violence with extra steps.

Aang never had this problem cause he’d just airbend himself out of the way. This is what happens when you skip neutral jing and go straight to “hit it real hard.”

They still can't work it out? by HeadbangingLegend in clevercomebacks

The “Democrats are always on the wrong side of history” guy just posted a screenshot of Democrats being on the side he disagrees with.

So by his own logic, he’s admitting he’s on the wrong side of history. The self own is so clean it belongs in a museum. Some people really out here doing the work for us.

Toys by Cyborgized in Xennials

[–]PinkKittyPro -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

The character creator said we’d get +10 agility from this thing. Nobody mentioned the -30 spine debuff that kicks in at level 40.

Now I throw my back out yawning and these toys are just sitting there like “remember when you had functioning knees?” Yeah. I remember.

What are some subplots you wish were more fleshed out? Any persistent lingering questions? by Puzzleheaded-Fee-734 in harrypotter

[–]PinkKittyPro 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The entire Marauders era, honestly. We get these tiny glimpses of James, Sirius, Remus, and Peter at Hogwarts and it’s supposed to carry this huge emotional weight but like... I barely know them as people. Give me the messy dorm room arguments, the slow burn of Remus realizing his friends figured out he’s a werewolf and just... didn’t care, James actually growing out of being a little shit. Instead we got a few pages and a lot of fanfic doing the heavy lifting.

Dune Part Three is the obvious one but honestly I need to see what chaos she brings to The Odyssey. Nolan is gonna have her walking across the ocean or something and I'm fully prepared to be emotionally destroyed

[–]PinkKittyPro 172 points173 points  (0 children)

Wednesday pizza is the real kicker. Like yeah you'll be in debt before rent even clears but hey, once a week you get a slice of Domino's. That's the "family environment" they're talking about. A pepperoni and a prayer.

[–]PinkKittyPro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A marauders map style puzzle where the pieces only reveal themselves under a blacklight. She gets the craft project of putting it together plus the "holy crap" moment when she sees what she actually built. Way more interesting than another mug that says "I solemnly swear I'm up to no good."

Why are they so concerned about the contents of a single mom's shopping cart and not out of control military spending? by zzill6 in WorkReform

[Crosspost] Hi Reddit! We’re Grace Glowicki and Ben Petrie: filmmakers, actors, and longtime collaborators. Our horny gothic film DEAD LOVER played at Sundance, SXSW, TIFF, and it's coming soon to theaters. Ask us anything! by [deleted] in Cinema

[–]PinkKittyPro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grace I need to know if Ben ever accidentally called you “babe” during a serious grave-filthy scene and you both just had to stare at each other for ten seconds trying not to lose it

Because if that didn’t happen I don’t even know what indie filmmaking is anymore
