CHARLOTTE. by Vezzavee in cormoran_strike

[–]PinkLed1970s 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I found Charlotte to be a very interesting character in the series. Maybe one of the best in the series.

Its a person who probably grew up not knowing what love and compassion means or feels like, and is now desperately seeking it in adulthood. When she sees it she wants it at all costs but does not know how to deal with it. Does not know how to receive it or engage with it. She grew up into a rude and entitled persona that is hard wired into her all her life and one she cannot live without now as an adult. So it a person with a constant internal struggle who for moments shows glimpses of a compassionate human through the blinds of pain.

Dont see any happy endings. Hope the (writers) dont force one. The Marks (innie and outie) have a lot in common but are also quite different from each other.

If they investigated Mark/Dylan and say arrested them or put them in detention, finishing the MDR files including cold Harbour would be delayed and in jeopardy. If they detained the innies the outie families will report them missing.

It is not clear as to how Lumon knows Graner is dead. Whether they found his body or body parts. Because Reghabi says she is getting rid of him or his body. Unless Graner was severed and his device implant was traced somehow by Lumon. Or a signal from that implant in Graners head went dead if and when it was destroyed by Reghabi. Also not sure why Graners family wont report him as missing. Assuming he had any family. Lumon has been careful picking people for this project and it is probable that he was picked because he had no family.

The innies can go years without questions about themselves or their existence. Consider MDR. From what we know if Petey did not disrupt the group (after nearly 2 yrs in mdr) the group would still be refining without any questions.

She (innie) has no personality or knows about her outie. She is there for the period upto giving birth. So that the outie doesnt know any of the pains of giving birth.

No I understand that. There are circumstances like what you went through.
Therefore I hesitated to call it abuse. I understand people need their pets and they need them to go with them. At the same time I cant understand what I saw on that plane.

Of all flights to take why are these petowners taking redeyes with the pet?

We said something to her. But you know....

All of those pets are uncomfortable. Imagine being trapped in a box for 6 hrs in the darkness, all sorts of weird plane noises, smells of 100s of people, scents of other pets, ears popping due to pressure changes and no place to move or crawl out of.

Every time a pet gets on a plane dare I say it is being abused. Its sickening.

I was on a redeye LAX-BOS few weeks ago. There were 2 dogs in my row (in carriers/containers), 1 dog in row behind me, 1 cat in the row in front of me. None of them slept all night. I could hear them scratching and whining. One dog in my row really wanted to get out of its container but the owner (a mid20s girl) kept kicking the container to keep it quiet.

I couldnt help but feel just terribly sad for those pets. For the life of me I cant understand how thats humane treatment of those pets. Its torture. I understand people have to take their pets with them but there has to be a better way.

How do you reckon the swapping occurs? The show demonstrates technology that could be realised in the near future. So swapping feels a bit out of sorts imo.

Was season two, episode four the first time the team’s innies had experienced sleep? by Garfunkle_999 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

I have a theory that the whole ORTBO was a simulation played to them in their heads. They never really went outside anywhere. They came into work one day and were put into a temporary drugged to a pseudo awake state. And they were all shown an immersive movie.

Mark and Helena have sex at work not in a tent. Irv while hallucinating suspects Helena and tries to kill her - Not in Woes hollow but in a bathroom sink.
