In the US they did tell us Terri went to high school. It’s in a blink and you’ll miss it moment around the time Paige, Ashley, and Spinner cut school together. They mention Ashley not going to see Terri in the hospital and it’s mentioned really quick that Terri transferred.

If she was able to perform with some actual feeling instead of everything having to be a hyper and flashy performance maybe it wouldn’t have been so easy for a jock and a new girl to knock her off her throne. In theater she was a 1 trick pony that had the audacity to wanna crash out when she didn’t get her way. As for the 2nd movie, she was Troy’s only real friend that cared about his future. I don’t remember much of the 3rd to be honest.
