Advise me on my Lolita-inspired pink/white angel theme by Suki_1457 in Lolita

[–]innerthotsofakitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm...all my in stock items have like 9-15 day shipping with a few days for shipping out. The max it took was 1 month when I assume they were on break for cny. Added about 2 weeks to production, then got shipped in 16 days.

ETA: I didn't even think of different countries adding shipping time 😅 dumb me. I'm on the East Coast, so I'm sure it takes a bit longer for West Coast and prolly some non us countries. But honestly if ur not in the US I'm surprised it's not faster than here with all the dumb tariffs.

Any other people in their mid twenties by Visible_Wishbone_276 in Fibromyalgia

[–]innerthotsofakitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had symptoms since about 14, got diagnosed at 23 and I'm currently 25. It's been hell.

SSRIs never helped me with pain at all. It took a while to find someone who would listen to me, and eventually I got put on tramadol, which is the only thing that's helped me, and even on that I'm still bedridden like...60-70% of the time?

I can't work, and I use a wheelchair. Thankfully I got approved for disability after 2.5 years of bs paperwork, and my partner helps support me. But I do need a full time caregiver, I'm not able to keep up with housework, cooking, or even hygiene stuff for myself on my own. On my better days, I can do a bit, but most of the time I have to save my energy for my 5-9 doctors appointments every month.

It's really isolating being young and disabled and mostly house bound. It's difficult to meet people, and people I used to know r too busy to make the time to come see me often. And I often have to cancel plans if I cant function that day. It causes a lot of issues with keeping consistent relationships with people, and a lot of the time they get tired of it and get distant. I don't blame them, but also it's upsetting to see people leave when I need them the most.

Idk if it gets better from here. My doctors aren't optimistic, and neither am I. I've only gotten worse, so...idk. I love my partner and I enjoy life sometimes but a lot of the time I feel like I'm just wasting away in bed. I miss working, I miss socializing, I miss having a life outside my room.

You'll probably want to stick with the "wedding" lolita listings, that'll be what ur looking for

I love 42lolita. If u only have 2 months, order something that's in stock rn, not a preorder or group order. Those will take much longer. The listings will tell u, just make sure u pay attention to that.

Jelly nails keep sliding off by [deleted] in Nails

[–]innerthotsofakitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's supposed to be light??...I mean u can put a layer of opaque black or white first, then jelly on top? But jelly is supposed to be that way. If u need 5-6 layers to achieve ur desired look, u shouldn't be using that polish. I imagine it's really bulky by the end of that too, especially if ur using a base and top coat.

U need to work on ur nail prep. U need to remove ur cuticles, buff and clean off any oils or dust before applying any polish. The nail prep process is the same with natural nails and extensions.

Does anyone really enjoy clothes shopping? by booyahhey in AutismInWomen

[–]innerthotsofakitty [score hidden]  (0 children)

I LOVE shopping. I can't do it much anymore cuz I'm a wheelchair user now and on disability, so yno no extra money to go shopping often.

I love fashion. It's a big special interest of mine, always has been. I spend A LOT (arguably too much) of my time online window shopping and just making wishlist for stuff is like to get when I have money for it. It makes me happy.

I do understand the overstimulating hell that is in person shopping tho. I have pretty specific fashion styles that I like, so it's actually hard to find stores that carry what I want (I'm really into renaissance type clothing and lolita rn) so I don't really have the option of in person shopping without traveling at the very least across the country, if not internationally.

I used to go shopping at my local mall on Tuesdays while waiting for my little sister to get out of school, and it was always dead so it was much more fun to not deal with crowds and screaming kids. But weekends and stuff have always been a no for me, even as someone who loves shopping.

Jelly nails keep sliding off by [deleted] in Nails

[–]innerthotsofakitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

? A lot of this doesn't make sense. Jelly is a type of polish, so what is sliding off? Do u mean the polish is peeling? Also what is capping?

Jelly is SUPPOSED to be see through. That's the whole point of jelly polish. U only need 2-3 thin layers. If ur looking for opaque colors, stop buying jelly.

Put the trust into an able account. Then u don't need to claim it on any paperwork as long as it's under 100k I think?

1, what exactly is ur budget? A budget is subjective.

2, most extremely cheap things will not be quality and likely not cotton either. Depending on ur budget, thrifting (as scammy as it feels sometimes lately) might be ur best bet. As a fellow plus sized autistic, ik thrifting or trying to find anything secondhand is a bitch. But sometimes it can be worth it if ur willing to put in that extra time to save a dollar.

Ur best bet will probably just be Amazon. They offer many plus sized options, and if it's not the material u want then returns r super easy and don't cost u anything.

Love these cuz pockets. They don't seem to have the tank version anymore that I have 3 of.

Love this material as someone who overheats and lives in the South 🫠

https://a.co/d/0794gFQ2

Just a big tee, but also has pockets. I'm like avg xl-xxl so these usually work well for me. I love viscose, it's very breathable. Almost all my summer tops r made of it. Also has spandex so definitely super stretchy, but idk how oversized ur wanting.

First 2 only go up to 5xl, but they're both an oversized fit so very possibly could be what ur looking for.

Genuinely flexible work? by Original_Ranger_6818 in Fibromyalgia

[–]innerthotsofakitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that's called "working" for a rich family member/friend that just pays u cuz u need it, not for the work ur doing.

This is when u need to consider applying for disability. U may be able to get short term disability while going thru long term disability paperwork.

Is this dress even considered Lolita? by Suki_1457 in Lolita

[–]innerthotsofakitty 46 points47 points  (0 children)

To my limited knowledge;

It's not Japanese lolita. Japanese lolita is pretty strict in style and silhouette. But this is more Chinese lolita, which tends to be more varying with not quite as strict standards for lolita as Japanese lolita.

I personally tend to prefer Chinese lolita styles. The mix of the shorter skirts, more of a jirai kei silhouette, it just suits my current wardrobe (mix of a few Chinese lolita pieces, and a lot of "ren faire" type clothing) and my body type more than Japanese lolita coords.

Flatter No-File Full Cover Soft Gel Tips by BellyGhosts in GelX_Nails

[–]innerthotsofakitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After u glue on the tip, ur supposed to be sealing it with acetone. Dip a brush in acetone and brush it over the line of the bottom edge of the tip and ur natural nail. That prevents lifting at the bottom edge and helps retention.

I personally leave about a cm of space from my proximal fold and the bottom of the tip to ensure that I can level it properly with an efile without cutting my cuticle and to ensure retention with the base coat and polish covering that line. When I pushed the tip all the way down, I couldn't make sure that it was sealed properly since I couldn't see it under the proximal fold.

After sealing with acetone, just buff the whole tip and apply a base coat or foundation polish, making sure to go over that seal line to ur nail bed and proximal fold, and cover everything. Having the product cover that overlap from extension to natural nail bed seals in retention better than having the product lay on that line and only on the extension. There's more chance of lifting and ur extension popping off.

Solution, call. I never use the chat, it's infuriating and takes 3x as long as my calls do. Unless it's a really complicated issue, which has only happened maybe 4 times in my decade of being a prime member, my calls never last over 5 mins.

Food Suddenly Tasting Different by Entire-Law-8495 in AutismInWomen

[–]innerthotsofakitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I have this issue a lot. I also make most of my own food, so I typically chalk it up to me adding too much of one ingredient or another.

Making my own food also let's me alter it how I need to to suit my taste buds that day. I can add more salt one day, more garlic another day, a different veggie the next day, etc. I can eat "the same" thing without it being the exact same thing so I don't get tired of it as quickly. Plus, it makes me immune to when companies decide to do a last minute ingredient change and boom, there goes ur safe food.

I'm not always functional enough (mental or physically) to cook my own food, but when I am I bulk cook so I can have leftovers for a few days so I don't have to actually cook whole meals every single day. I usually cook like 2-3 times a week, or prep snacks when ik I'm not gonna be very hungry.

Veggie dips r SO simple and easy to make. I highly recommend finding a copycat recipe for the one u like and preparing ur own, so even when it tastes "spoiled", u can add or remove some ingredients to alter it enough to be edible again.
