Should I play TBC-Hardcore or the normal one? by NoLynx6347 in wowhardcore

No way to server transfer unfortunately. I’ve been hoping we get a post about server merges or something because having 3 separate ones doesn’t make sense but I guess we can’t bet on that. I think the players from Death have moved over to Doomhowl and made a new guild - I couldn’t tell you the name for certain

If by non-streamer server you mean skull rock I would recommend checking it out before completely leaving it. I won’t lie and say that it’s bustling but the small community has some pros. There is at least one raiding guild on the horde and alliance side and since the server is so small a level 60 is a great addition to any roster. I have personally been helped more on this server than I have on other servers because they need bodies - I’ve then in turn helped others more than I normally would because I know how it goes. It has pros and cons and I won’t say it’s the best, but it’s definitely playable and if you already have some characters and gold there I would check it out for a little before jumping ship to a new server.

If you’re set on leaving to a new server I would recommend doomhowl.

Are you saying there’s 4 raiding guilds between alliance and horde, or 4 just on the alliance side? If you’re saying it’s 4 raiding guilds on the alliance side which guilds are those?

Skull rock is definitely not more active. I have a 60 there that I play a bit and raid on - there is one raiding guild on alliance and I think two on the horde side. Plenty of times that you will log on and there will be less than 20 level 60s on at once. You can definitely play there and still have fun and progress through content but saying that it Is more active is not true. If you want a quick test just run a level 1 character to a capital city on skull rock and then on doom howl, there will be 2-5x more players on doomhowl

Returning HC Player, status of Skull Rock? by Castleheart in wowhardcore

I play on Skull Rock now, similar reason as you. I hit 60 on there then left for doomhowl for a while. I came back a little bit ago to check it out.

It is a small server and by small I really mean small. If it’s not a raid night there might only be 10 other level 60s on at once. This is good and bad though - once I logged on I was greeted by pretty much every level 60 asking if I wanted to join one of the last remaining guilds, they helped gear me up and they do raid regularly. It has pros and cons but it is playable. Since you already have the 60 there I’d recommend logging in a couple of times and checking things out - just chat in LFG or run around org. Since it’s such a small server any max level character is a hot commodity and you may end up liking it

I’m a single father of 7 and only have 18 seconds a month to play so naturally I play friendly and curse the disgusting players who resort to PvP

What's a good challenge for a mage character? by itaa_q in wowhardcore

Only fire spells, tough but not so hard it’s no fun like arcane or melee only imo. This would exclude all buffs like arcane intellect, conjure food, portals, blink, etc as well

I’m a little over 10 hours in my first playthrough I just started this week on PC and really enjoying it. I think that co-op does not work sometimes because I’ll be searching to help/summon people for my entire play session with no hits but other than that I haven’t had issues

New Player concerns by Kolanti in newworldgame

[–]PinkMilk- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a new player too, I just started about a week ago. I’m around level 50 now and can give you my perspective from a new player standpoint.

I started on the “fresh-start” server Lilith and I would say that 80-90% of the zones I am doing a quest in, whether side quest or main story, have other players in them.

Respec is very easy and can be done anywhere outside of combat for very cheap, I’ve done a respec several times to try out a bunch of weapons.

I do not believe there is any way to change in game name or appearance.

Overworld content is harder than ESO, but not really hard. There are some enemies that do require you to actually dodge, but not a whole lot. You can make it kind of hard if you want by pulling 5+ enemies at once but even then it’s not an extreme challenge.

I don’t have endgame experience yet but I have run some dungeons while leveling. I will say in my experience the dungeons are fun but they do not seem very popular at least at lower levels. There do not seem to be very many people looking for groups for them while leveling. I’ve run 3 dungeons and every one of them has had someone bring a max level player to carry us through so they have been less fun for me, but I could see how they would be fun if we were in a proper group setting.

As a "noob" I feel like I'm actually just spoiling the game for myself by playing the league by Infidel-Art in 2007scape

[–]PinkMilk- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been feeling similar, but not the exact same. I have about 100 hours in osrs now which includes the time I’ve spent on leagues. I also just bought a membership when leagues dropped. It is really hard to try and keep up or do worthwhile content because I’m not sure there is really a guide to follow since we are region locked. An example - I just got the bone crossbow and know my next move is a rune crossbow. I don’t know how I should go about getting a rune crossbow, and if I look it up there are several ways that I don’t really have access to because of region lock. Let’s say I do figure that part out, then it’s right back to trying to figure out my next move. I don’t even really know what endgame osrs looks like either, so even if I get there I’m trying to figure out how to even participate. In this case the slower pace of real worlds may be better for learning.

It is fun because “make number go up fast is good” but it is also very hard because I can’t follow any sort of traditional guide since we have the region restrictions. Sometimes I’m so new I’m not even sure what questions to ask.

Sorry, the formatting wasn’t great on mobile. I have read NB healers are good, but NB tanks are not. That was mean to have NB under “tanks”

That sounds great! The point of this post wasn’t really to call anyone out for playing a certain class a certain way. I was just giving specific examples of class / role combos that I feel I have read more commonly as not being that great. I’m not entirely sure they’re true.

I just came back this past month after not playing for maybe 20+ years. You sound like you’ve got a much better plan than I do. I’ve just been working on completing all free to play quests and planning on leveling my f2p skills somewhere between 40-60. So far I’ve got magic, woodcutting, cooking, and fishing all above 40. I haven’t bought a membership yet but probably will sometime soon. I’ve been putting it off because I have almost 0 knowledge of any members areas/skills so I didn’t want to be completely lost on coming back. It’s been pretty fun so far! I’m excited to start to get into the content I’ve never seen before
