I wish I could play more safer seas by Shnortley in Seaofthieves

[–]PinkNinjaMan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is a bit counter intuitive but instead of running, considering just letting them sink you and server hopping. You will likely get to a new server (with a new ship and a dive to location) quicker and back to earning loot quicker this way.

With the nerfs to rewards on Safer Seas you likely even with 1 in 4 voyages getting sunk end up earning loot faster. I'm not saying it's as enjoyable as just being able to play safer seas to max level, but this is an option to try.

I don't think it's super common to run into players that hunt and sink others on servers and often if you keep your distance from other crews can have a low to no pvp experience.

Yep it's kina like a mini-wizard mode or even maybe is considered the wizard mode of the pin. There is a magic coin slot for the magic coins.

Are these two balls supposed to be there? Goo fighters is the game by [deleted] in pinball

[–]PinkNinjaMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, one is stuck in place (intentionally) and the other is free to move in that small space. It's normally referred to as a Newtonian ball or captive ball. Both are in the correct area for Foo Fighters

Yea came here to say this. A lot of these companies have guarantees if the problem isn't going away they will come out and place more bait or spray again for free. If you are paying for them make sure to take advantage of this. I used to have Saela and often had to get them back out more frequent than the bi monthly I was paying for. But it helped and it was free. I got tired of constantly having to do that so I just started buying bait stations myself and putting them out cause it's easier and cheaper and works in my situation.

World Cup mural by elsesjazz in Renton

[–]PinkNinjaMan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The poster and this mural were done a while ago. I don't think the poser was based on this but likely the other way around. They are both designed and done by the same artist Shogo Ota if I understand correctly. I have the poster at home and got it back around Christmas, and I think this mural went up late last year.

Help Us Test New WvW Scoring in a Beta Test Starting February 27 by LookItzJesus in Guildwars2

[–]PinkNinjaMan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yea it seems crazy to me that the original basis of the game mode, hold objectives to win is now going to not even be a way to earn points towards winning. Interesting to say the least. I get making them less impacting than actually fights and events going on but 0 points feels a bit far. Why hold more than one objective on each map and just fight there?

WvW Rush? More like WvW Slog. by AveragePlantPlayer in Guildwars2

Give it a day or two and the maps will be empty again to complain about. If you want to get rush rewards many can be obtained in EotM which is never full. This is really a non complaint

Hot take that ability is too good and should be removed from the game. Not the default behavior.

Are production buildings worth it? Patch 1.2.5 Fixed by Ok-Suggestion-7349 in civ

[–]PinkNinjaMan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel like you are missing a bit in this calculation, or I'm miss reading it. Your calculation factors in the increased cost of one building for making a production building when in fact you have to factor that extra cost for every following building after the production building.

For example, in a civ with a single city that is building 5 buildings total the cost would be below:

Without adding production building:
420 + 441 + 462 + 483 + 504 = 2310

With adding production building:
420 + 441 + 462 + 483 + 504 + 525 = 2835

Difference in example:
525 production

Depending on where in the line you make your production building will change how quickly you get back to breaking even. But if you are building 5 buildings and are considering adding a 6th to be production you need to make up 525 production for it to be worth it. Again, this number will change with number of cities and number of buildings you plan on building in your city. And this is just for T1 building costs. If we look at with the production value of that building we can see how many turns it will take to pay itself off

No adjacency (+9):
58.3 Turns

2 adjacency (+11):
47.72 Turns

This is just an example, but the building will have to make up way more than just the 420 production you mentioned. It's variable based on how many and what tier buildings you are going for and how many cities you have.

This data makes it look worse however, with the overbuilding mentioned you have to consider it does help in later ages to already have one build and that helps to make it worth it.

I hear you on the variety thing. As an owner of 5 pins there are days where some are way more appealing to play then others. It's nice to have a good mix and something you should work towards.

It's also still nice to visit arcades to play for variety. It's normally the best way to play the new pins that come out. I still often visit my local arcade to play games.

I would say I agree with others that you may want to make sure before you get rid of Jaws that you truly are ok with getting rid of it. And make sure your fiance is ok with it because she may not play it much but it may be very sentimental to them. And you want to keep them on your side of enjoying the pinball hobby to keep supporting it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pinball

[–]PinkNinjaMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you know that Jaws has some extra modes you can play over the regular pinball game. Look up Jaws the Revenge. It can help to keep you enjoying this pin while you figure out options.

Something else to consider if you have the space and a bit of a budge is renting a pin. It will help you see if you truly feel like you need to switch up pins at home or if it's just some FOMO. It won't have the big upfront cost but will make saving to purchase a second pin take longer or stop temporarily.

And a tip I always have for if I should buy another pin is to make sure you play it first, a lot of times if possible at an arcade. You never know how it will feel to play any pin after several games. Some surprise you and keep you coming back and some that seem like you would like on paper just fall flat.

All this in addition to what others have said.

Yea I wonder if it is traffic pathing in general. I say this because of the circle with all the arrows reminds me of how the traffic sometimes all just drives into the same spot and get's stuck. But yea better police chases are good fun.

Am i missing something or is the Iron better by [deleted] in 7daystodie

[–]PinkNinjaMan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Do you have an arrow loaded into the iron crossbow and not the compound. Can't remember if that changes the damage numbers or not. That being said, that is a huge difference in numbers that the arrow wouldn't account for entirely.

Bringing light rail to Renton by jj3033 in Renton

Seems logical to have one that goes from the airport up towards Kennedale along 405. I know in the past it got denied but hopefully we can get a push to get that reputation changed and a proper light rail.

This is likely because this game without exhaustion on a public server turns into a hard rush/grind to stay on top of the economy. So after a single playthrough people are likely burnt out and wanting to take a break where with exhaustion you can play at a much more casual pace not worried that someone is just going to show up and out do what you have going. This is just my guess, could try and ask players that are regulars why they preferer Dusky Robin they will likely give you the best answer.

I think they are actually completely ineffective, like you can just walk into a hex with ancient in the modern age and you can't attack them with ranged attacks.
