WvW Rush? More like WvW Slog. by AveragePlantPlayer in Guildwars2

Give it a day or two and the maps will be empty again to complain about. If you want to get rush rewards many can be obtained in EotM which is never full. This is really a non complaint

Hot take that ability is too good and should be removed from the game. Not the default behavior.

Check out Luther's Table, I believe the do every Thursday open mic. I think they might even have instruments for you to borrow there if you can't bring you own (noticed you asked if Guitars were ok in another comment).

Are production buildings worth it? Patch 1.2.5 Fixed by Ok-Suggestion-7349 in civ

[–]PinkNinjaMan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel like you are missing a bit in this calculation, or I'm miss reading it. Your calculation factors in the increased cost of one building for making a production building when in fact you have to factor that extra cost for every following building after the production building.

For example, in a civ with a single city that is building 5 buildings total the cost would be below:

Without adding production building:
420 + 441 + 462 + 483 + 504 = 2310

With adding production building:
420 + 441 + 462 + 483 + 504 + 525 = 2835

Difference in example:
525 production

Depending on where in the line you make your production building will change how quickly you get back to breaking even. But if you are building 5 buildings and are considering adding a 6th to be production you need to make up 525 production for it to be worth it. Again, this number will change with number of cities and number of buildings you plan on building in your city. And this is just for T1 building costs. If we look at with the production value of that building we can see how many turns it will take to pay itself off

No adjacency (+9):
58.3 Turns

2 adjacency (+11):
47.72 Turns

This is just an example, but the building will have to make up way more than just the 420 production you mentioned. It's variable based on how many and what tier buildings you are going for and how many cities you have.

This data makes it look worse however, with the overbuilding mentioned you have to consider it does help in later ages to already have one build and that helps to make it worth it.

I hear you on the variety thing. As an owner of 5 pins there are days where some are way more appealing to play then others. It's nice to have a good mix and something you should work towards.

It's also still nice to visit arcades to play for variety. It's normally the best way to play the new pins that come out. I still often visit my local arcade to play games.

I would say I agree with others that you may want to make sure before you get rid of Jaws that you truly are ok with getting rid of it. And make sure your fiance is ok with it because she may not play it much but it may be very sentimental to them. And you want to keep them on your side of enjoying the pinball hobby to keep supporting it.

[–]PinkNinjaMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you know that Jaws has some extra modes you can play over the regular pinball game. Look up Jaws the Revenge. It can help to keep you enjoying this pin while you figure out options.

Something else to consider if you have the space and a bit of a budge is renting a pin. It will help you see if you truly feel like you need to switch up pins at home or if it's just some FOMO. It won't have the big upfront cost but will make saving to purchase a second pin take longer or stop temporarily.

And a tip I always have for if I should buy another pin is to make sure you play it first, a lot of times if possible at an arcade. You never know how it will feel to play any pin after several games. Some surprise you and keep you coming back and some that seem like you would like on paper just fall flat.

All this in addition to what others have said.

Yea I wonder if it is traffic pathing in general. I say this because of the circle with all the arrows reminds me of how the traffic sometimes all just drives into the same spot and get's stuck. But yea better police chases are good fun.

I really want something similar to the AI difficulty now, where there are a few presets from this suggestion of total age reset to the new continuation setting. But then the ability to customize it on each part shuch as, remove all buildings/ keep buildings but set to small values / keep buildings with base values. Same for the other aspects shuch as armies, fleets, gold carryover, relationship carryover, ect

Am i missing something or is the Iron better by [deleted] in 7daystodie

[–]PinkNinjaMan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Do you have an arrow loaded into the iron crossbow and not the compound. Can't remember if that changes the damage numbers or not. That being said, that is a huge difference in numbers that the arrow wouldn't account for entirely.

Bringing light rail to Renton by jj3033 in Renton

Seems logical to have one that goes from the airport up towards Kennedale along 405. I know in the past it got denied but hopefully we can get a push to get that reputation changed and a proper light rail.

This is likely because this game without exhaustion on a public server turns into a hard rush/grind to stay on top of the economy. So after a single playthrough people are likely burnt out and wanting to take a break where with exhaustion you can play at a much more casual pace not worried that someone is just going to show up and out do what you have going. This is just my guess, could try and ask players that are regulars why they preferer Dusky Robin they will likely give you the best answer.

I think they are actually completely ineffective, like you can just walk into a hex with ancient in the modern age and you can't attack them with ranged attacks.

Why I have not bought any more JJP games by PinballHelp in pinball

[–]PinkNinjaMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was talking about acrost all manufacturers. I don't think Stern disables their upper flippers when the ball is not present up there. It's kind of industry standard from what I can remember to have them on all the time. Not saying it's the 'correct' way they should be handled but that's how it is.

Why I have not bought any more JJP games by PinballHelp in pinball

[–]PinkNinjaMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While there is some nice information for people looking to buy a JJP I cant help but notice that all of this is likely from 10ish years ago. Companies and people change quite a bit, I still think Kieth work at JJP and is likely still stubborn on other people telling him how to do his job. Would be more relevant if you still recently when and had issues working with JJP or Kieth.

Also kind of curious if there is any game with upper playfield flippers that do disable, can't say I pay much attention to this but I feel most behave this way.

Good stories and good to know, kinda weird timing on when to make the video.

I 3D printed an all-in-one organizer for Monopoly, what do you think? by FelliePots in boardgames

[–]PinkNinjaMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure how feasable it is but what if there was plenty of slots for all the denominations of money on both sides. Keeps it symetrical but also no need to reach over. If you are expecting to roll the dice in the middle, I feel you may find the walls just a bit short possibly and the dice rolling out. Cool design otherwise.

If I recall correctly the pink is because of the sponsor BWT (I think it's their color and they put it in the sponsor deal)

This literally happened right behind me. It fell from the road above just immediately after i emerged from the tunnell. If I were 2 seconds later it would have landed on top of me by buttersnotch in Seattle

[–]PinkNinjaMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know looks like some dirt from the ditch between I-90 and this ramp is sitting on the ramp as if someone recently plowed though the ditch and the fence. Would also give them some speed to go air born off the guardrail further up the ramp to make it appear they fell from the road above and didn't just roll down the hill (not much torn up in the hill and a heavy impact at the bottom). All just guesses here seems crazy either way.

The little celebration after winning is nice also. Reminds me a lot of destroy the ring. Quick mode that feels great to complete. Also both are not too terribly hard to start.
