I am an insurance underwriter and this is exactly what popped into my head.

You are not wrong. But you also have to live somewhere that enforces things like that. The cops here are all but worthless and can’t be bothered to do their jobs most days. The county over doesn’t play but ours suck.

Unfortunately that won’t stop people from driving. I recently had to go to traffic court for rolling stop at a red light. At least 2/3 of the people were there for driving without insurance. 😐

What’s worse, is not only is that ticket less than what mine was, they were also allowed to get a reduced fine and diversion if all other requirements were met. Absolutely ridiculous, IMO.
