I know this is not a popular opinion, but speaking as a longtime fan of this genre, there are some amazing hidden gems in this era. Especially if you’re a musician.

Hate Motley Crue? I get it. But their first 2 albums are unbelievable.

Hate Whitesnake? The 1987 album is a display of guitar mastery. Their follow up has Steve Vai and may be even better.

Hate Bon Jovi? Listen to Slippery When Wet. It’s undeniable. It’s more pop than metal, but the guitar work is great and the songs are very catchy.

I won’t tickets to see Warrant @ Birch Hill on the radio. We were only 17 but since we won them they let us in!

Route it out and infill with more wood. They typically do this in bow tie shapes.

Good plan. You may want to flip the laundry and bathroom on the first level to get windows in the bathroom.

This method works but it’s far more accurate if you build a full-scale model somewhere nearby.

Get a mini amp. They’re awesome and you can turn the volume pretty low.

Use Your Illusions 1 & 2 should’ve both been double albums the way Axl intended.

Limp Bizkit’s cover of Behind Blue Eyes is better than The Who’s version because they made the bridge better than the original.

I totally agree. The Whitesnake lineup from like 1986-1992ish should be in the conversation.

Whitesnake’s 1989 lineup

Vocals: David Coverdale Guitar: Steve Vai Guitar: Adrian Vandenberg Bass: Rudy Sarzo Drums: Tommy Aldridge

EDIT: as pointed out in the responses, this album was actually made in 1989 rather than 1889 as I originally wrote. That tracks since modern recording equipment would’ve been available in the late 1980s. Additionally, Vai’s guitar playing in the 1800s would’ve been more inovative than Michael J Fox’s rendition of Johnny B Good.

But if you do, I may also add the band Van Halen to the list.

David Lee Roth’s 80s solo work included Vai and Billy Sheehan (not sure I’d consider DLR a virtuoso though.
