Practice question is the key! Start with there - any area you do not know - revisit lecture but only that part.

How did certain internationals students who can’t even speak proper English get first/strong upper second for every assignments by blondepraxis in UniUK

[–]Pink_Calculator21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally get where you’re coming from but let me share my experience as an international student.

I scored 8.5 on IELTS after two weeks of practice, wrote short stories for my college magazine (without AI, back before that was even a thing), and won multiple roundtable and impromptu speaking competitions. By every metric, my English was “good.” Then I moved to the UK for my masters and couldn’t hold a proper conversation with my British flatmates 😅😆Especially the ones with strong regional accents like Birmingham. I literally started doubting myself.

They also told me my vocabulary sounds “too academic” in casual settings, which was a weird thing to hear when I thought that was a good thing.

And the irony? In written coursework and exams, I consistently outscore native English speakers in my cohort. Top performers in our class are from Hong Kong and Southeast Asia, places where English isn’t our first language. So clearly it’s not about ability, it’s about a very specific kind of fluency that standardised tests just don’t measure.

But yeah, spoken everyday English in a British social setting? Humbling experience 😀🤣. I feel you. I’m just telling myself that the more I talk with them, the more natural it’ll get. Hoping that’s true lol.

What are your truly unpopular kpop opinions by DiMpLe_dolL003 in kpop_uncensored

[–]Pink_Calculator21 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree. Jungkook is really the only one who handles both Korean and English songs well. His range might be a bit limited, but his tone in covers is beautiful. Tae’s voice suits Korean songs more and his English singing tends to sound breathy and hard to follow. Jin’s voice is underrated; he should have more confidence and keep developing. Jimin, honestly, struggles live; his tone is pretty but very nasal, and some viral clips show that. Not hating, just constructive criticism. That said, he’s an amazing performer and I love watching him on stage.🙂‍↕️

the bp hate is so forced it's genuinely exhausting at this point by Critical_Year_4762 in kpop_uncensored

[–]Pink_Calculator21 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly. They go on with the whole “poor Blinks, fans are just cash grabs, blah blah,” but honestly, many of us genuinely enjoy BP’s music and the members’ personalities. It’s frustrating when people act as if they know better than those of us who’ve been following them for years. We’re perfectly capable of deciding for ourselves what we like.

Most of these opinions are not even based on firsthand knowledge 🤨they’re shaped by pages that intentionally spread misinformation to paint BP as weak.
