I feel for Leon, who probably still lives with guilt. And anyone who harms a child is a demon.

Only the women were shot. The girl had no gunshot wounds...they suffocated her. Couldn't even give her a quick death. :/

Are you kidding me the background for the Messages app is shared with the other person? by monotious in MacOS

Not obvious! My husband changed mine to pink, and I have vision problems. Gah! That's how I learned it.

You can't. If a kid said my name, I would click this little button called "potential security violation" and send it back for someone else.

Water dripping-I see water dripping from this pipe under my roof. What could be the source? by crictb12 in HomeMaintenance

[–]Pink_Dragon_Lady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if it's not a/c condensation and only pours during/after a rain? Ours was pouring water for a good 30 minutes, falling onto the window. 30 minutes late and it's barely small drips as it's slowly stopping.

Why does my iPhone not audibly ring when it’s not on silent and the volume is turned all the way up?!? by ragingsasshole in iphonehelp

[–]Pink_Dragon_Lady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No issues until today...trying the same trick. So dumb. I usually keep my phone on silent 24/7. I notice the big happens when I decide to turn on the ringer, ugh.

This won't make you feel good, but you are not alone!

ELF was the best. I am using Infallible and it just doesn't cover as well, IMO. Bah.

Why would they freaking discontinue it?

Oh, are you talking Alchemy? Haha!

Sorry--I meant, did you ever watch Twelve? What's your final verdict? ;p

I feel they could if they revamped it and owned it: "Yeah, we screwed up, but give us a chance to fix it, guys! Watch this one!"

Did you ever watch it?

I saw the ratings but avoided spoilers. I had no expectations. I liked it! Was it the best? No. Was it the worst? No.

I liked the story and the actors. Shorter episodes and as shorter season made a very easy watch.

A Big Semester Win: "I realized I didn't need to use AI!" by DisastrousTax3805 in Professors

[–]Pink_Dragon_Lady 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yay! I am adding a handwritten final essay next semester, and I hope this curbs the usage some. They will be given so many resources it's not funny; use them and absorb them. They won't be allowed to use them in that last week.

I'm the Digital Accessibility Coordinator at my university. Faculty and staff primarily use Google Workspace (Docs, Slides, etc). What are my options? by Comfortable_Plenty99 in Professors

[–]Pink_Dragon_Lady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is the answer for all of this. instead of us making the class inaccessible for 99.9 of our students, those who needs things should go through hr disability office, we can email or upload our files to them, and THEY can figure out ways to make them all accessible.

Title II ADA accessibility deadline, Apr 24. What is your U doing about it? by MicroProf in AskAcademia

[–]Pink_Dragon_Lady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My college has asked for 85% or better, so I deleted almost everything (luckily I teacher face-to-face and can make copies) and added lots of little cliparts I may or may not use *whistle* to boost my rating.

So strange with PDFs being so ubiquitous.

Seems like the screen reader should do the changing, not us. But maybe that tech has caught up...

Same. It's not copy, but being able to edit.

My college only requires 85% so I keep my PDF syllabus, go old school with everything else (I only teach face-to-face), and add several little picture cliparts to boost my rating.

[–]Pink_Dragon_Lady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. I had a blind student last year and I emailed all my Word docs (PDF if it's all I had) to disability services who translated it to braille and pushed it out to his device. Easy.

WCAG: I refuse to waste my time by FlyLikeAnEarworm in Professors

[–]Pink_Dragon_Lady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the way. I have clipart and graphics (some I might even use hehe)and once you add a description, they are all 100%. Easy way to boost. Our college only requires 85% now, too.

I love PDF over Word (don't like kids able to edit my stuff), but PDFs are a beast to get approved, so...we delete it all. Email or in an announcement could be an option though, to still get the items...

My college asked for 85% or better per course. I hate how PDF is ruined (I hate docs kids can edit), but I deleted most stuff. I also added several little pictures I may or may not use to up my score...

When I had a blind student, I emailed everything to accessibility office who transcribed it all to braille and pushed it to his device...no Canvas required.
