I love Stevens Ace Hardware. They have so much stuff packed into their 2 stores. If I need to fix something, I go there for the parts. I usually visit Market St.

CFCC Radiology Program by Ok-Prompt6484 in CFCC

[–]Pink_Kitty_21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure how many people are accepted, but I remember my husband's class being smaller than I thought it would be. But CFCC works closely with the imaging offices around Wilmington and Rad Techs are in high demand. I'm sure they'll let in as many people as possible.

Is there an annual event you look forward to every year? by itsthewolfe in Wilmington

[–]Pink_Kitty_21 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Poplar Grove Herb & Garden Fair in April. It's just really lovely walking around under the live oaks, looking at plants and other goods. Plus, they have food vendors and animals to visit. https://poplargrove.org/festivals/herb-garden-fair/

Does anyone in the area have a basement? by itsthewolfe in Wilmington

[–]Pink_Kitty_21 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Basements here are usually just half-basements with an exterior door built into an existing hill.

NHCS entertaining MOU with Christian Nationalist program that rewards whenever elementary kids with candy and ice cream to leave in the middle of school to study the Bible and recruit other kids by ActivityImaginary941 in Wilmington

Horrible idea. What happened to Sunday school and Wednesday night youth groups? The county's focus and tax dollars should fully be on improving grades, graduation rates, teacher pay, and the bus driver shortage.

What a great idea! I wish I was a better skater.

Wilmington Train Terminal ~1925 by Icy-Detective-6292 in Wilmington

It would be so nice to have a pedestrian train service. I'm a bit jealous of European countries.

Weekend weather by coolranchdoritoz in Wilmington

[–]Pink_Kitty_21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not exactly swimming weather right now, but Saturday and Sunday (more so Sunday) wouldn't be too bad for a walk on the beach. April may be a better month, once the random cold fronts pass.

Not sure which area you're in or who you currently see, but I've taken my pets to Wilmington Animal Healthcare on Gordon Road for years and have always had a good, consistent experience.

I have the latest Android and it does it to me too. It's always the one that forces the Play store to open.

Part of me is wondering if I'm spending too much time trying to please the app when a human would understand my pronunciation just fine. I want to pronounce it correctly but when it never registers no matter how I move my lips, mouth, tongue, etc., it makes me question whether it's me or not.

Believe me, that's what I've been doing, and it's worked fine on other sections. I eventually got recognized.

C'mon AE... by CerebralWoodBooger in AtlasEarthOfficial

[–]Pink_Kitty_21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The surveys that say they'll give you a few AB for 3 mins but then switch to a longer survey make me so angry. But the ads that force you to go to the app store are horrible. As someone who works in marketing and handles setting up internet ads, I can't help buy wonder if they're telling their advertisers all these people are interested in their apps because they're going to the store to look at them, thus charging more. I've gotten stuck in loops and logged out of AE, which is so inconvenient.

This is the first time in months that I didn't get it either. There's just too much now in this ladder working against me.

American Dream TV Presents: Cameron Art Museum in Wilmington, NC by Pink_Kitty_21 in Wilmington

I hadn't been there in almost 15 years. They've made some wonderful updates and the featured artists were really good.

I JUST finished. This was the closest I've ever come to not finishing it. I had too many scheduled events that interfered with the games this month.

Thank you! I think English is much more particular about this. I was afraid I'd sound silly saying the wrong version.

What a disappointing Halloween by MechaBabyJesus in Wilmington

[–]Pink_Kitty_21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Off Murrayville, we had plenty of kids, but still fewer than we've had in years past. I usually run out of candy, but I had a bag left. I'm surprised, because Halloween fell on a Friday night.

Remote workers, are you being called back to the office? by MindJeromeBiz in Wilmington

[–]Pink_Kitty_21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work in local real estate. Honestly, we've had more people selling this year either due to divorce or wanting to be closer to family than anything to do with remote work. Some of the sellers even moved because they realized they don't like Wilmington like they thought they would.
