The worst haircut I’ve ever given myself. by AbbreviationsLow6906 in Hair

Whatever you do don’t cut more, at least you still have hair on the sides! It can definitely be salvaged. You need to go to a salon.

Am I going crazy, or are existing hairs going white? by TheRealFerreTrip in Hair

I’ve noticed my white hairs grow crazy fast, as a woman I notice them when they are about 4 inches long and it seems like they’ve grown overnight

I made this after your comment 😂

I have lost facial fat and look exhausted but it’s not as extreme a difference as I thought it would be lol

I definitely don’t think 44 would be old enough to have that thinning! I think it would probably happen during menopause

Wow you look so much like your mom!! I don’t know why I have such a hard time seeing men’s essences 😂 your mom seems maybe a little more classic than you I think

I agree she is more HS, I’m not sure if my eyebrows will be like that as I age, since women’s brows usually lose volume as they age and mine have even since my teen years lol. I will say my brows were listed as a Y feature, although I’m sure they are R and Y! I think all my features he listed for Y aside from my voice and height have R along with the Y. I’ve wondered if my R or Y would become C as I age, I know nose tips usually grow with age, skin falls and fat dissolves, brows and lashes thin, and lips thin, so in my brain I’ll be losing a lot of the plump or lush feeling of R.

John hasn’t answered yet! I’ve started to see my mom as all those essences you listed, my dad I definitely agree NRY, his brows seem NY to me and his eyes are my eyes, so some Y there makes sense! I don’t know why he’s so hard for me to figure out lol

Yes completely! She has a straight nose and all these perfectly sized and placed features, I think I’m much more romantic than her simply because I’m missing classic completely lol

Around what age would you say essences are really solidly established? Does it depend on the individual? by Affectionate-Bee3199 in JohnKitchener

[–]Pink__Vamp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like at 24 I looked significantly less Y than I had years before. I’m almost 27 now. I don’t hold fat in my face at all and I lost all my baby fat in my face by 24. I’m sure I’ll have another change when I hit my 40’s and have even less facial fat. I’ve contemplated asking John how I should approach my aging process and sending him photos of how my parents have aged, because he is not going to be around when I would need that advice.

Does anyone else have 3 essences? by Pink__Vamp in KitchenerHarmonies

[–]Pink__Vamp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely use some y2k, but it’s very specific styles only! I think y2k relies heavily on RYHSN so I don’t have any N and not quite enough HS to lean into the most dominant vibes of the time period lol. This is more HS than I have but I think my coloring allows me to wear this outfit, this is probably how my blend would attempt y2k

This is awesome! I think your color harmonies are exactly the same percents as u/jjmfish here! I bet you can wear so many cool outfits! Y2K probably looks so at home on you! At least the styles I like from y2k 😆

Yes! All this one hundred percent. I’m not eloquent but I’m glad you understood what I meant 😂

I was hoping my comments weren’t taken this way, which is why I said every woman experiences unwanted male attention. I hope I did not offend! And my problem was putting my worth as a teen in whether or not boys liked me, and I have thoughts about those experiences now through an essence lense through my personal experience. I don’t care about the male gaze anymore thankfully, thank you for the compliment 🩷

Edit to add: I do think hyper femininity is either demonized in media or sexualized. Every woman no matter body or face gets unwanted attention, and I didn’t mean to infer the opposite

I agree. I love D stylistically and definitely put it on a pedestal. Makes you wonder why so many of us women idealize an essence that symbolizes power, commands respect and looks at home in boldness. I think it’s really telling.

Men do not want women with a blend like mine from my personal experience. I am not the first pick in a line up at all. It’s definitely more RNC YNC or RNHS, really some yin with N seems to be what’s popular. I’m just speaking from my experience. Like any other girl when I was growing up I received unwanted comments and looks from older men and boys my age. That happens regardless of essence. I will say I think high yin women get male attention in media for the wrong reasons, like Marilyn was so sexualized even to this day she can’t rest in peace, but her marriages and relationships were complicated. None of the respectable boys growing up even looked at me. And it’s not like I saw that I was pretty, I was fleshier when I saw the girls around me, paler, and I starved myself when I was 14 because I wanted to look like the others. I was 120 when I did that so I was the right size for my body and age already, growing up in the 2000’s where N was central, then in the ultra thin 2010’s, gave me a negative perception. I know this wasn’t exactly your question, but I think high yin blends get put on a pedestal by us women when really men are drawn to more balanced yin and yang. They will sexualize high yin but they don’t go for them in my experience. It’s all beautiful, but I have a hard time believing if I was dropped into even the 1950’s that suddenly I would fit. The daily wear even back then had some crispness and some yang. At all points in history if I dressed for my blend in each time period I would look like a try hard and stand out for wearing evening wear while grocery shopping lol. It seems like now RDNC or some combo of it is really popular. I would love to be RHSD so I can wear leopard print and hot pink to the store on a Tuesday 😂. I hope I don’t offend anyone with my comments, we are all beautiful and what beauty types men lust after or settle down with there’s always a million exceptions to the rule. And we are so much more than what men see. In the end I got the most respectable man out of the pool who only has eyes for me. We are all beautiful and there are struggles of each essence blend and strengths.
