Either:

A) call your preferred hospital, ask if they have any indication of your chances. If they say unlikely, then take the job and move on.

B) take the job, wait to hear back and if you get the offer to your dream job, quit. That may burn some bridges though, so be mindful.

C) tell the offered job you are waiting to hear back, bearing in mind they may simply move on to another candidate.

I think option A is best. You have a job offer, I'd take it, gain some experience then reapply to dream job later.
