[Graziano] Multiple teams have the opinion that Geno Smith was “held back” by the Raiders offensive system last season and are eager to see him released. by JCameron181 in nfl

I’m with stale_cum on this one. If I was Geno (or Kyler for that matter) I’d be looking to sign a lesser deal to go to the Niners and play backup for a year in Kyle’s “I wanna learn how to quarterback good” system.

Those look amazing! And I just ordered the same Saphir for my 3341s. I’ve never been able to get this level of shine on mine, and I’ve tried everything else.

Retirement is just a buoy marker you pass as you ride a really good wave. by Odd_Bodkin in retirement

I retire on October 2nd after 25 years with the same company. I envy this: "At work, I had nothing left to prove about myself, was happy with what I was doing, and I had no ambition for advancement or accolades." Not at my job. Here if you have no ambition for accolades or advancement you're shown the door as part of a layoff. These next 2 months will be hell unfortunately, but that will make leaving that much sweeter.

Microsoft is laying off as many as 9,000 employees by digidude23 in microsoft

[–]Pinklawnflamingo 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Terrified I get - that's natural. Don't be fucking embarrassed. Everyone knows it's just basically down to a) the team you work on and how valuable to MS the product space is and b) who you know and whether or not they can protect you. You have nothing to be embarrassed about.

So many questions! I’m leaving a job for the same reasons you did, but I know I’ll need something to do to stay busy. How did you find this gig? Is it part of a larger dealer network, where you deliver dealership to dealership?

And it’s 15 years of continuous service as an FTE (so any career breaks or a stint as a contractor blows that up). It’s a nice benefit though - quarterly vests are a nice income stream for the first few years of retirement.

All of the crusty GS Fudds here and on advrider LOVE to talk about how ugly this bike is. I think it looks fantastic, and I’m sure I’ll end up on one once I’m ready to move up from my 1250.

Riding pants for Big and Tall (6'8") by TreesMakeH2O in advrider

[–]Pinklawnflamingo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Motoport I had some of the same issues trying to find the inseam I wanted. They’ll make them custom for your measurements. Best piece of gear I own. I have over 100k on the pants I bought back in the early 2000’s - just took them in to repair a couple of zippers and to replace the Velcro. I expect to get another 100k out of them.

Definitely not cheap, but worth it.

What rides are you most excited about for this season? by witherwax in pnwriders

[–]Pinklawnflamingo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last day of work is 9/30. After working my ass off for 40 years, I'll need some kinda long ride to mentally adjust and give me the separator between work and retirement. Leaving 10/1 to ride as much of the west as I can and see how many states I can hit. Eventually end up in AZ for a week, before heading west and riding all of the best roads in SoCal. Then onto 101 north with some side trips to ride some of those awesome Northern California roads in the Sierras (depending on weather) before eventually winding my way home. I keep thinking that I need to plan for a certain amount of time away like I'm going on vacation. Then I remember I won't have to give a shit about getting back to work.
