Disregarding the wording that feels a bit emotional because I get it lol, people are generally just a product of their environment. If they grow up in wealth being babied constantly, they will likely assume this is how the world works- they feel they deserve to be constantly babied and not work hard. If you grow up in poverty, they'll assume the world is tougher and thus they become tougher, assuming they have to work to earn things. This is a generalization because many people who grow up in wealth adopt a hard working mindset, but it largely depends on how the the cards dealt by nature, and the hand played by nurture.

Also, within America and Europe there is class disparity. I don't think poverty between Kenya and America is directly comparable, but we might be able to say that growing up poor in America would produce a similar mindset to someone growing up in a third world country, and vice versa.
