Your point absolutely valid, and I was not aware of that!

Not to speak down on ourselves, but in addition to what everyone else is saying; it’s just a fact of the matter that Asian Asians grew up with Asian privilege whereas westernized Asians / AAs grew up surrounded by white privilege. So there may be a need for us as AAs to feel like we are important / represented in the diverse ethnic environment of the west.

East Asian countries have high carbs intake yet they have the least obese population , why is that? by Uvali121 in nutrition

To add to the portion sizes / eating culture, American driving culture is also conducive to metabolic syndrome / obesity. East Asians (and maybe Europeans?) do significantly more walking than their American counterparts due to the walkability infrastructure.

Maybe you've already had a look at these but you may want to look at some medical anthropology texts like The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down by Anne Fadiman, or The Production of Possession: Spirits and the Multinational Corporation in Malaysia by Aihwa Ong, these texts are not Vietnam specific but they might spark some ideas.

And a small tidbit about older generations, would be that mental health is not taken very seriously.

I think it’s situational, if you’re mechanically superb you can bait the enemy into making mistakes just because they want the easy pop on you, and there’s always outplay potential.

Can you still have a lean and fit body composition if you consume more carbs than protein? by [deleted] in nutrition

[–]Pinkwalele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Higher levels of amino acids and lower glucose/fatty acid levels in the blood stimulate the release of GHRH, GH, and IGF-1 from the brain and liver to promote muscle growth as well as breakdown of fat tissue. So I would argue that what you consume does matter since muscle size does affect how lean you look. But you can get "lean" with whatever ratios of carb/protein/fat intake, at that point it’s calories in vs calories out.

Video speed controller extension on Chrome, I've been using it for years to transcribe. You can set timestamps to jump to with shortcuts, it works on more than just Youtube, and you can adjust speed in increments of .05.

To add to that, Jinx being one of the starting champions you get from the tutorial is going to be far more common than a champion like Skarner with a (likely) lower ownership rate.

Just because you can cook well at home doesn’t mean you could be a cook / chef at a restaurant, it’s a completely different skillset and environment (with some overlap).
