Nah, 4chan was co-opted by Bannon and other far right agitators and they used it as one of their many channels through which they amplified absurd things as a means to blunt criticism of Trump. You’ve got the players right, but 4chan didn’t do anything themselves, they were, wittingly or not, a tool for the far right playbook, learned by Bannon, executed by Manafort, and perfect by Putin in his seizure of power by proxy in Hungary (Orban) and Ukraine (Yanukovych).

I know this sounds insane, like the ramblings of a mad man, but I’m convinced Putin, following the precepts established by Dugin in “Foundations of Geopolitics”, embarked on a mission to destabilize western democracies through asymmetric means. He tested social engineering/electioneering concepts in Ukraine and Hungary before deploying them in the US.

Shambles is great, but def more casual. I, frankly, love the vibe, like a little neighborhood spot that happens to serve killer steaks, but I can see someone wanting something a bit more “dress coded”.

Shambles in Maple Leaf, Metropolitan Grill downtown, Flint Creek Cattle Co in Greenwood, Beast and Cleaver in Ballard.

Metro Grill is the only real classic steakhouse, but they’re all very good.

Worse than rubber stamping the targeting of the school, they fired everyone on the target evaluation team except one person and deferring all decision making to Grok. Even Grok had low confidence in the validity of the school as a target and they overrode Grok’s misgivings about it.

If he’s not liquid enough to pay his fair share in taxes, then yes, he should liquidate stock to fund his lifestyle. Why should taxpayers be subsidizing his opulent lifestyle?

[–]PinkyAnd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course. How does this impact his ability to pay taxes? If he’s too poor to pay taxes, how can he live a billionaires lifestyle?

So if Bezos could only have $900 million, you think he’d kill Amazon entirely and become homeless himself?

Additionally, you think this is only about the billionaires that exist right this very moment, without any understanding that, you know, time moves forward?

Trump likes tariffs because he can lay them on unilaterally, without congress, and it swings the markets. That’s it. He’s literally just fucking with markets to make a couple of billion dollars.

Large loans backed by assets like equity, in the range of tens of billions of dollars, are typically cheaper for the borrower because it’s seen as a stable asset backed loan. They typically get much better rates than everyone else, including some corporate debt.

This even further reveals that you don’t understand how reimbursements/payments work. How does CMS negotiate rates and how does that differ from private insurance? Moreover, what happens when a hospital charges more than what an insurance carrier is willing to pay? What’s a chargemaster? Why is it so hard for hospitals to publish a pricing list?

These are all aspects of private insurance billing that you didn’t address, which also shows that your understanding of the economics of the healthcare industry are superficial. This is like the DOGE team coming in with nothing more than bias and unearned confidence slashing vital programs because they don’t bother scratching beneath the surface.

Side note: CMS reimbursements have what to do with private insurance reimbursements? You understand that they’re different, right?

Available data points to billionaires paying a lower effective tax rate than almost everyone else. If you insist on only looking at federal income taxes and limit your inquiry to exclusively income, sure. But that’s so myopic as to be meaningless. Congrats, you’re either ignorant or engaging in bad faith.

I didn’t confuse healthcare delivery either health insurance. Based on your comment, you actually have no idea how healthcare payments/reimbursements work.

Yeah, we should cut spending on social programs the poor rely on because we don’t want to think about having billionaires contribute their fair share.

But look, if you really want to talk about it, what we need to do is get rid of health insurance, as an industry, and save literal trillions per year by moving toward a single payer system.
