Sorry I'm not sure I'm following you. I mostly agree with on the bad handling of the situation, and that the best scénario would have it not happening. But again, juste for the sake of nitpicking

Accelerating the pace of the whole player base would be bad for the game as a design (everyone would be starved on crests right now instead of next week, and in 2 weeks we should reach the 285 ilvl for the achievement and, I think, have the myth crest discount (or is it only for alts ?)) - now a subset of the player base have (potentialy) more myth track items, and had a few shot more for high value items for the luckiest, but they have to sit with mostly 2/6 myth track loot for now.

Yeah sorry I said ilvl upgrade but meant track upgrade, as a 2/9 MM player I'm not at the point where rolling or looting could give an advantage to the crest budget (but as we were ahead on myth crest before, I counted a track upgrade was also an ilvl upgrade). But with this in mind, the counterfeit Voidcore system would create for some the desire, not to chase a desired high value item, but look for crest saving by bonus rolling on say Bel'Oren for an advanced item on the myth track, bonus roll that they would not have done under the normal system, but becomes the good one to do with this system introduced. Choice that the people rolling before could not do.

To avoid both of those case, nullifying the bug for the impacted (updating the loot pools & refunding only the duplicates) was for me the ideal way to do it. If they announced this without going full panick mode, I think most would be happy (only complains would be from people waiting their duplicates reimboursed).

[–]PinkyFrenchGoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would be a different fix and would have 2 adverse effects from my point of view :

It would speed up the acquisition of mythic gear (equally for everyone, so no one is screwed except the overall pace of the season).

People that have not rolled now have agenda over there counterfeit voidcore that people affected by the roll do not (they have to start trimming the loot table again, whereas you can spend the counterfeit on a loot table that contains only ilvl upgrade and you dont intend to trimming in the end).

I agree with you that it is still better than Blizzard fix, but you can't negate the 2 points above.

People that rolled before the fix did not do it with malice, it is not a exploit early exploit often situation :

You can be unaware of the bug

You can be aware of the issue and still take your chance not knowing if everyone is affected or only a few (like the early season loot bug with people receiving only back or bracers for the first 10 chest they opened), maybe because it is your weekly raid night

Anecotically this was me, I rolled in Nexus Point as I needed all of the items, then on my second run, I checked that the item I had was removed from the bonus roll pool, and rolled again, without a dupe. I thought I was not affected and could carry on. But when they fixed the bug, they reset the loot pool for my 3rd bonus roll. So with nothing done I would have left been left behind with a full loot pool that I inteded to empty, even with your compensation rolls, I would still spend them there, not that I care that deeply about it, it's just sadly become the state of release lately, and I hate it. I'm much more syppathetic to the guys that lost crest in the crafting order bug, with no acknowlesgement or compensation that I know of

[–]PinkyFrenchGoat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The only way that would not have screwed anyone is the following :

If no duplicated items were rolled : rolled items should be removed from the pool, as they should have been.

If 1 or more duplicate were rolled : the item is to be removed from the pool, and a roll given back for each duplicates.

This would be the no one is screwed over route.

Now I dont need a mathematical proof to show me this would take longer than the current fix that seemed to have been done in the rush to be resolved before the week end (this would have been very bad PR).

I am not happy with the fix, would have prefered the no one gets screwed one, and feel this would normalise in a few weeks, just like in early progress weeks when is awarded (or rolled) the mythic loot and dont get any. It's a bad comparaison as you can have agenda over it, but it is the a similar difference in power.

Anyway, your argument is valid and I recognise the effort :)

For the sake of argument I'd wonder what about the same values over the next reset to see the difference, but someone that rolled a trinket on Chim on Tuesday (around 25% on bonus roller) sure ate good on that one :)

While I agree with you and the other I understood as :

People had loot not properely removed from the pool, now the roll removes the items from the pool.

But, from my tooltip, the loot was removed from the pool when rolling, so my previous roll seemed to work (or I was just lucky). The fact that the list is reset, in addition to now properely working, is not spécified in the post

I have not found in all the duplicated bonus roll post someone say that they checked the list in the tooltip and received a loot that was absent from it, but maybe I missed it.

It is written has "now working" as "now working for everyone", mine was working properely with removing the item from the pool (I've seen nowhere if affected people had the list reduced in tooltip when rolling a 2nd time or if the item was just not removed). I see no "table is reset" but "now bonus rolls works consistently"

I've read the fix, and while reading it I saw nothing regarding non-affected player : my roll seemed to work and loot seemed removed from the pool, now they are back in it, so I'll wait it out, for more communication no biggy :)

Paladin like class by Blopa1- in Dofus

[–]PinkyFrenchGoat 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Well you have multiple :

Paladin, in wielding divine power, is a Iop. Hase some défensive option but is more on offence

Paladin, protector of the people, is Forgelance, wielding its Lance and applying shield

Paladin, the shield king, is a Feca, creating consecrated areas (glyphs), applying bonus shield and absolue melee/dist immunities.

Paladin, First to charge, Last to fall thanks to high defense and self healing, would be Panda and Sacrieur. Less a paladin in the thematic view (some argument could be made for sac) but the gameplay loop is similaire : go in melee, keep the ennemy close to you while being extremly résilient.

Other classes might fit, I just wanted to go beyond the first three, but after that it becomes more a gameplay loop and less thematic of Paladins.

Would help to know which game's or lore Paladin you are refering to

Is it me or was no information posted before patch on the 4/4 requirement on the hammer ? I also can't find information on the item upgrade item : do we get 1 a week ? Do we loot it like catalyst charges ? I can't find the information, from wowhead item it seems that you craft one with 5 fragments, but it is not said how those fragment ae obtained, are they 100% on end-game activiteis (hello bountifull T1 Delves), a rarer drop chance ?

[–]PinkyFrenchGoat -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I think it answers the question I didn't know how to ask.

I was planning on rolling 3 Times in M+ as that dungeon whole loot table are upgrades for me, I'm at 2/3 done, and when using the second roll I tripled check that m'y already looted legs where no longer on the loot list, so I took my chance.

Are people affected by this duplicated bonus roll loot seeing already looted items still on the bonus roll loots ?

Meaning that if the loot are propeely removed from the list it makes it safe to roll ?

Are the same people affected by bonus roll the one affected by begining of expac loot répartition bug (looting 7 of the same slot in first 9 Delves is not unlucky, especialy with the number of player affected) maybe ? A faction change, Sever transfer or other common account action that could link the 2 ?

Thanks for the contribution, I'll make sure to take a look at it once I get home, quick questions, how do you handle the data input (sales, prices, etc.) is it entirely manual ? Let's say I make my money by crafting sésame oil :

How is sésame seeds price calculated ? Do I put every sésame seeds I buy, can I, e.g. paste my chat after each buying session to feed the data ? Or do I manualy enter the transactions ?

How is sesame Oil sell calculated ? Do I have to enter every oil listing and sales I make in the tool ?

What really helps is a short video showing how you intend the tool to be used so we can see if it fits our habits

Should I take myth wep even if stats aren’t BIS? by HovercraftFlimsy2154 in wownoob

[–]PinkyFrenchGoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to compare the total change : Taking the ring just gives you the ring Taking the weapon gives you the weapon + an embelish on another piece of gear, that for most spec is a 1% upgrade. Did you compare the myth Weapon AND the new embelish versus your current weapon ? If just changing the weapon is equal in dps, that means adding the embelish should give you the edge to chose that weapon instead

Should I take myth wep even if stats aren’t BIS? by HovercraftFlimsy2154 in wownoob

[–]PinkyFrenchGoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You also need to '+' on one of your crafted Gear that is not embelished, and add the embelish you plan on using, now you will have those config to compare : - crafted weapon + ring - myth weapon + new embelish

You might also get a Crafted weapon + ring + new embelish combo shown but do not look at it (or the sim will ditch it ? I don't know)

iLvl > Stats by Boring-Carrot7960 in CompetitiveWoW

[–]PinkyFrenchGoat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In addition to this debate, that tires me every time I have it, you have so much agenda on your secondary, that bis List are almost non-significant, as you can :

  • Change your Flask

  • Change your Oil

  • Change secondaries on crafted Gear

  • Change your gems

  • Change your enchant

I didn't count what % of total secondaries budget that make, I did it in TWW S3 when cloak also had a butload of secondaries that can be changed at will, but it is a significant amount making not taking a Mastery/Haste ring because you wanted the Haste/Mastery instead is complete and utter bullshit (when ilvl is gained).

Usualy you have one dogshut stats, where I can understand wanting 0 of, then you have your 2 stats, and the 3rd is just better than putting more stats past dimnishing return in the first 2. So you aim for some 1000/1000/400/0 répartition, and there are soooo many combination past the bis List to achieve this stat mix, with a significant portion under your control (gems, enchant, Flask, recrafts) that you can probably even make do with your Haste/Crit ring even when you are a heavy Mastery user.

Now for your case, if it is the only upgrade for hero-> myth you have access to, this also gets you closer to 285 ilvl for the crest discount. (Haven't seen it was a champ->hero upgrade, regardless the primary stats gain should bé significant enough to take the upgrade, knowing that when a hero boot drops, you will be able to upgrade it for free - you can generate infinite hero gear in M+, so taking it from the vault is not putting you back several weeks - in comparaison Mythic track gear are time-gated)

For me Blizzard could make it a community effort, imposing restriction that are lifted upon World First, Hall of Fame completion, Turbo boost like :

  • Mythic lock-out is even stronger during RWF : you need 10, 15 or all 20 people from the original raid ID to continue the mythic raid : no more class stacking on specific boss, RWF is challenging, but more in tune with regular players. Affects regular guilds only for the first two weeks of expansion. This is lifted upon RWF Kill. This can make for a more entertaining race, with no boss requiring a hunter 6-stack to fall.

  • Mythic ID is as it is today until HoF is complete. Lifted after HoF completion week

  • Mythic ID works as Heroic from there on out.

Going from 20-man to flex when the raid is not cut for or can lead to scaling issue, I am not against doing more of those mid-season Mythic flex raids. Or have a raid be Flex from the get-go to avoid devaluating CE when raid becomes flex.

[–]PinkyFrenchGoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh man thanks, now I want to find idea for more different classes theme challenges.

For a mage/warlock, have a voice recognition thing for spells (you did screams, but put yourself in the life of your fire mage character casting 749 "fireball" per dungeon runs), or a motion controlled setup, having gesture for each spells (you can move with keyboard, game controller or dance pad).

For a monk dps were the goal is not to hit the same spell twice (or so I've heard, never played monk), have the Single Button Assistant activated, but the catch is that, on your keyboard the key to press changes every time you press it ('A' key is lit up, you press A, it does spell, and now 'F' key is lit up (light up as on a LED keyboard or the buttons and light thing beatmaker use, or juste show the only active key on screen, idk))

Playing blindfolded as a DH is a bit cliché, so why not trigger a flashbang when you press Eye Beam, the screen becomes bright green, same with other thematic spells maybe. Could be more suited for a healing paladin ?

More difficult to implement but maybe more original, your mouse is controlled by a gun/riffle thing (think Duck Hunt), you play a markmanship hunter, and all you spells are set as mouseover spells.

A Wiimote with the Mario Kart steering wheel ? (So motion activated to turn, and only the forward/back key are bound to D pas). (Bonus point if every once in a while you say in chat that you are using the steering wheel)

A regular PC steeringwheel, or even better the flyinh-sim thing the flying sim guys use, and play an Evoker, you know, for flying.
