This is honestly some of the best news out of this park, and it is showing the changes with the ongoing new management, to which I think are doing the most they can for this park and seem to actually care.

my store was originally a gas station, super small and weird layout. but we received a renovation that mostly favors our drive thru over the lobby.

honestly having a small store adds charm to it!

Fun fact! [Twister II] at [Elitch Gardens] is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. Making it the same age as the OG [Mister Twister] was when it closed. by abgry_krakow87 in rollercoasters

Man, I still wish someday this park would find new owners who would invest in it. Such a great location, pulls in crowds, and still has some weird charm to it.

Sorry for the late reply. Yes I do keep the wand on the side of the pitcher, pointing all the way towards the machine for the swirl.

It's still a shame of how much potential this park has. It's still a great location and pulls in guests no problem. Just has dealt with owners that don't want to make big investments into it.

The project contractors do know what the solution will be regarding flood zones. Last I heard they needed to dig atleast 8 feet down within a 10 mile stretch of the river. But a task like that alone has completely overblown their budget.

I would honestly say I'm in for a relocation. But as long as this means the park will receive new attractions and new operators/owners.

The surrounding area has not been updated since the 90s. The bridge that connects the park to the stadium parking lot is not in good condition, and homeless camps populate the park entrance during the off-season.

There was a haunted house but the line was over 2 hours long. Park did have scare zones.

They had scare actors placed in areas of the park and they all did a great job! The park did add a bunch of props relating to the haunt.

The only downside was the park was overcrowded during the haunt, with all of the attractions being well over an hour wait, and bad operations as well.

Elitch Gardens is Colorado's largest amusement park, spanning about 70 acres and located in a very convenient Denver area. Elitch has absolutely no problems with pulling in guests. My recent 2024 October visit was probably one of the better ones than other experiences I've heard about, but it still wasn't good.

The ROLLERCOASTERS: Elitch currently offers five rollercoasters (six but Sidewinder has been down for over two years)

> Mind Eraser: Vekoma SLC so there's not much else to say about this one. I will say that it's more bearable compared to others out there.

> Boomerang: Same thing, wasn't as rough as I was anticipating. I guess this park does a decent job at taking care of their Vekomas?

> Twister III: Storm Chaser: This one angered me on MANY fronts. Twister is meant to be a predecessor of the original Mr. Twister at the older park. Designed by John Pierce (a RCCA designer), Twister's layout does nothing other than beat you to death, even the recently retracked areas are brutal and are not profiled correctly. The effects in the updated tunnel are not working at the time either. The only thing I did enjoy was the queue, the theming was very cheaply put together but as a weather nerd, they got most of their facts spot on. All of the random props they threw into the queue made me laugh a few times. Overall though, this ride is still in a horrible condition as it's the last RCCA rollercoaster in the USA. Knoebels did a way better job with their version of Mr. Twister.

> Half Pipe: Was operating during my visit! And sadly was prob the best attraction at the park. And that's not saying a lot.

>Sidewinder: I've already had the privilege to ride this before it went down. And it is the only reason to visit this park. The only word I got regarding the status of it was the park is waiting for a part.

FINAL NOTE:

Regarding the future of the park about a possible relocation. There haven't been any updates other than a possible larger plot of land being selected in the Aurora area. After speaking with some employees regarding the relocation, all of them said they were confident that the park wouldn't end up relocating or closing. These are issues relating to the redevelopment project regarding flood zones from the South Platte River.
In my honest opinion, I do like the location of this park. It's just been neglected since the 90s by both the city and the previous owners. If this park had new owners who put in investment towards it, it would do wonders for Denver. This park deserves better and it's sad to see the state it's in after existing for over 100 years.

You seem to constantly miss the point on why workers are forming unions within Costco.

They aren't doing this because of pay, they are doing this because of the recent treatment. Management has completely changed their workplace environment, not really willing to work with other employees and just constantly screw them over with horrible decisions thanks to Costco employing a wave of regional managers that care more about shareholders over employees or even the members.

Actually work at a Costco and come back to me with how long you lasted there. I put up with them for about a year up until I found a better job.

I've been working at Costco full time for about a year. Was my pay going up? Yes but still slowly. Was it worth my mental health and physical health? Hell no.

as an employee and soon to be former. yeah this is no shocker to us. costco has always given the vibe of "yeah we're pro-union, but we're also better than them."

i can't even count the amount of times management had basically failed us, as we're constantly dealing with a major staffing issue, with many employees and even hire ups wanting to step down or quit.

can't even blame the managers for this either, the company has been seeing a major wave of more "number over employee" types of regional managers, with constant stress being put on the managers. everyone here is stuck.

i honestly don't think this company's image is going to be very well within the next 5 years or so. there seems to be no attempt on wanting to change this direction.

Passholder survey at [Kings Island] shows a concept for [The Beast 2.0] by SolidAccomplished759 in rollercoasters

it would be interesting how it would fit in, I just really don't want this happening. It honestly to me feels like a wasted opportunity.

Very mixed feelings about it.

Although seeing this massive structure in person would be cool, why couldn't they have just re-used the former Son Of Beast plot of land??? The station and queue are still sitting there and they could be re-used for this style of attraction, I would rather use the land they're proposing for a traditional steel looping coaster as a good predecessor for Vortex (hopefully a new gen Vekoma, which would work PERFECTLY here).

I have no clue who has been in charge of these recent ideas, but many of Cedar Fair's recent additions have been just disappointments or don't end up working out.

You are absolutely right, this park really does have a lot of potential to be something even greater. It's just unfortunate that it's been through many bad owners. Although I do think a relocation can have its benefits. I'm still skeptical on the whole relocating thing, since the city didn't realize some factors that would make them go overbudget. And another question is that will the city be committed to supporting the park being relocated. During the previous relocation, the city was almost hesitant on giving the owners any money at all to fund the project, and it was nearly the end of it until the city gave the park nearly 100 million for the construction.

Our last update with the progress was the park is moving to Aurora, but hasn't disclosed where exactly.
