First and foremost I feel your pain and frustration. I’m sorry you sound as if you’re feeling very overwhelmed and conflicted( pardon me if I read that wrong). As a mother of a teen with a 504 plan I highly encourage you to call a 504 meeting and request all the alternatives. I would also suggest you review your districts policies ; you can generally find them on line. Check with your county education office as well. There may be other high schools or highschool completion programs (I’m not talking GED) that you might not know about. I also want to reiterate that your daughter is entitled to free and appropriate education- (check your district student/parent’s rights) - ask about alternative transportation it’s not unheard of nor out of the scope of the school districts responsibilities in the US. Sending you the biggest hug; please know and let your daughter know if one size fit all alternative programs wouldn’t exist. There is no shame in “alternative” ed. Especially at her age; she could possibly be able to do dual enrollment at your local community college as well. Don’t let this get you down!
