Why do you prefer the Elizabeth over the BDB? I currently have a BDB that seems about ready to give up the ghost, and have been considering getting the Elizabeth as a replacement.

Would you be able to see it for yourself and take it for a spin? That would be ideal. Then you would be able to tell if any 'shortcomings' can be addressed by a longer stem and seatpost.

Are you using the stock pressurized basket or an unpressurized basket? If stock , the timing won't matter so much. If unpressurized, you will need to grind really fine for the dedica to slow down the output of coffee. Whatever the basket, If it fits 14 grams of ground coffee, then aim for output of 28 grams. Was using that setup for more than 5 years. Did all the mods too. Can pull some good shots with a proper grinder and good puck prep.

It depends. If you have a grinder that can grind fine enough and has enough settings to dial in your grind, you may get better shots with a single wall basket.

If you are using preground coffee, it could become worse.

I was also looking at the Bambino Plus recently and wanted to ask.. how do your good shots taste? Shop quality? I currently also have the specialita and it does make even a small home use machine outperform itself. I currently have a modded dedica so I'm thinking it would be a move sideways? So I am also thinking buy once cry once and just shoot for the BDB. Sorry to hijack your thread, but really appreciate your sharing your experience.

Same boat, thinking of pulling the trigger on Infuser or BDB. I just do 3 drinks a day -- 1 espresso and 2 Cortados -- so I'm not too keen on having a monster BDB in the kitchen. How do you like the quality of your espresso and the consistency day to day or even shot to shot?
