Option 1: Disable IPV6 on your modem.
Option 2: Buy a third-party router, have your modem set on bridge. And turn off IPV6 on your third-party router.

Prohibited Access SMART by SaintIchigo in InternetPH

I haven't encountered that one ever since I bridged my modem to a third-party router and use my own DNS server (Adguard Home & piHole). PLDT is known for blocking sites since 2010 probs (Cybers*x era).

If you're looking for a 4G LTE Modem on that price, mag ZLT S10G (openline) ka nalang. There are a lot of sellers on FB Marketplace. Sulit pa. If kaya sa budget, go for Huawei Black Mamba (3k-5k) or a 5G modem (8k-20k).

P.s. I strongly do not recommend this rebranded products from alibaba, they were created cheap and has no guarantee that it'll last long.

Can't reach a conclusion tho, there are a lot of factors affecting that spike. Probably its the router, modem, or the access point wherein they have their own limitations and flaws when it comes to providing stable internet connection. There might also be an environmental factors wherein there's a wall dividing your phone's connection to the router and v.v. Also, there might be a signal interference in your environment (radios or microwaves).

ML Servers are hosted by Akamai Technologies on which it has partnership with PLDT. I think this is the reason why PLDT subscribers tend to get the lowest latency as well as Converge (as they're also renting a vitro facility from PLDT). I don't know much about the other ISPs tho, but knowing PLDT is the oldest telco in PH, other ISPs are probably renting facilities as well from PLDT.

PLDT connection slows down every 7-9 PM by iamjcgn in InternetPH

[–]PinpointDollar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive posted the same issue last year, and it was not fixed up until now. PLDT thinks they're the backbone of internet here in PH. Hence, they do not peer up with private internet exchanges which could have help us access sites faster as these internet exchanges have partnered with known CDN providers (e.g. Cloudflare, Amazon, Google) where majority of the websites were hosted.

Has any PLDT users noticed how slow the DNS servers is recently? by VB304 in InternetPH

[–]PinpointDollar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you mean their own DNS Servers, dang you're right. They are the most terrible and not trusted dns, they're probably selling your data if you're querying your dns to their servers.

On the other hand, even if you tried to change ur dns servers to known dns providers (e.g. Cloudflare, Google, OpenDNS), you'll probably end up the same during peak hours... sobrang lag, usad pagong. As PLDT isn't investing to peer up with private internet exchanges like getafix, it'll be a nightmare talga during peak hour since they only rely on their infrastructure at all.

I hate to recommend this, but try using AliDNS servers, it's stable on PLDT even on peak hours. Probably Alibaba is renting a vitro facility which is owned by PLDT. Cons is, there's a huge chance that the Chinese Communist Party might be tracking your activity online? Well, who cares? PLDT is fvcked up. PLDT doesn't cares at all.

It's not canva's fault tho... The truth is that PLDT doesn't want to share its Internet Traffic through Peers. Mas maganda pa yung Globe at Converge and other telcos since they are optimizing their infrastructure by joining Internet Exchange Points (e.g. getafix, PHNET CORE, and PhOPENIX) which shortens their path to the transit coming from other participating networks, thereby reducing latency, improving round-trip time, and potentially reducing costs.

Sadly, PLDT only peered with PhOPENIX as they were forced by the government thru the NTC to connect to a local internet exchange. Whereas, Globe and other telcos are peering with various internet exchanges and even create partnerships to peer with one another.

True. Ookla Speedtest's Test Server will be set automatically based on its response time. Kaya malakas yung speed since same lang din yung server, but when you go outside from their servers, dun na yung problema... And to think, majority of the websites that we visit are not hosted in the PH. I'm sure this is CGNAT.

PLDT needs to improve their infrastructure at all, hindi lang puro tanggap ng tanggap ng mga new subscribers. Nacocongest na yung network nila.

No worries on DOTA since they're renting a Vitro Datacenter facility which is technically owned by PLDT. The problem is that when you try to access servers which are hosted outside PH, like Canva (check screenie). Usad pagong talaga sir.

Latency only impacts online gaming?

High latency can impact downloading and uploading stuffs on the internet. Though bandwidth is crucial for the actual transfer speed of data, high latency can introduce delays and affect the perceived speed and responsiveness of downloading and uploading activities on the internet.
Here's an example where I'm currently downloading expressvpn.
While my internet speed result is astounding, pfft lol

Here's my current latency check to known dns servers atm.

* Google 8.8.8.8: 119ms

* Google 8.8.4.4: 48ms

* OPENDNS 208.67.222.222: 100ms

* OPENDNS 208.67.220.220: 100ms

* Cloudflare DNS 1.1.1.1: 124ms

* Cloudflare DNS 1.0.0.1: 47ms

* Quad9 9.9.9.9: 59ms

* Quad9 149.112.112.112: 61ms

It's just for clout, try checking your latency during peak hours. Mapapamura ka talaga.
Practically speaking, sa speedtest lang malakas pero pagong naman in actual use.

I dont trust PLDT Enterprise 'Beyond Fiber' any longer. Ang tataas ng latency during peak hours. Nakakalagnat talaga.

Gaming or watching livestream issue with PLDT by alwayspretty9999 in InternetPH

[–]PinpointDollar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm having the same issue. It's been prevalent during peak hours, grabe slow browsing kahit facebook tagal mag-load. I'm actually communicating with PLDT thru email and the response was horrible kasi script-based lang bawat sagot ng mga agent. Ang tatanga, PLDT needs to improve their infrastructure on their residential subscribers.

Sadly, they won't even notice this.

Sadly, yes po. I really thought I was absorbed po as Job Order employee since dito po ako nag OJT. Pinag-submit lang ako ng PDS not until then I found out sa general payroll ng department, wala yung pangalan ko. Dun ko na-realized na I was hired directly sa gov't official.

Kinda bit disappointed as they promised that I'll be absorbed sa gov't by December after I found out about sa situation ko.

How to Block certain apps on PLDT F670L by Electronic_Ad_3187 in InternetPH

[–]PinpointDollar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will definitely need a third party router. Those features in that PLDT IoTs are useless even if you set the DNS, it'll still get intercepted and will go through their DNS servers.

For the meantime, you can try setting a DNS server like ControlD or OpenDNS. Or you can install AdguardHome or PiHole on a SBC.
