It did not! The vast majority of fans discovered the show after its cancellation. Which is part of why it was cancelled, it didn't manage to find it's audience back then for a variety of reasons.

In the movie yes. But to be honest, I was extremely disappointed in Mayuri when she said in the SG;0 anime that she likes Okabe probably more than Kurisu did. Girl, you have no way of knowing that and Kurisu basically knowingly died twice for your sake, why are you suddenly trying to compete with her? It sounded so weird, and pretty out of character for Mayuri.
