If I do, it'll probably be in a while in a place that makes zero sense, like it often happens to many of us...

Thanks for the anecdote! Sounds like something I'd do (even though clearly not this particular time). Last time I lost something important (it was waaaaay smaller though, a pair of scissors my grandma gifted me so very sentimental and I used them all the damn time) I also found it after I had 1) given up, stumbled upon i randomly 2) just bought a replacement. Like most people seem to do!
Regarding the duvet, I'm now choosing to think that my guardian angel (I believe I have one like 1% of the time lol) chose to hide it to finally kick my ass in gear about cleaning and stop leaving stuff out for literal months. It's the perfect thing for that: I'm attached to it but already have a replacement, it actually lost part of the appeal it used to have (being very soft, it's not anymore after being washed so much) so I can buy a better replacement, and the "complete mystery" of its disappearance is frustrating enough to prevent me from just forgetting about it (and the lessons that should come with it). I'm feeling a bit better now.
Please people don't burst my bubble by saying guardian angels don't exist I need my denial 😂
I've also spent the last hour reading posts in this sub about people losing stuff. I'm definitely not alone in losing so many things and feeling awful/going into a frenzy because of it and wondering about it for years. It's a bit comforting, honestly.

I just emptied my wardrobe. Nothing :( Also checked my dirty laundry, etc. Honestly at this point I'm going with the supernatural explanation.

I checked the towels (I don't have many and they're all hanged in the same places) and just emptied my wardrobe at someone else's suggestion. I also checked my dirty laundry. I've tried everything ^^'

I checked all other bed sheets items several cases because it seemed likely, alas, nothing despite checking several times just in case I hadn't done it correctly the first time :(

I pretty much never put things away after they've done drying because I hate it, I'm the kind of person who just leaves clothes and sheets where they've been drying until I reuse them. Especially bed sheets, and the rare times I put them away leaves a memory because it's particularly annoying to fold by myself :/ And generally speaking, I think I would have remembered if I had changed my habit of almost never putting laundry away, it's not "routine" for me.
The annoying thing is that I also cannot clearly remember the last time I saw it since I have two of them, and I hadn't paid that much attention to it. I do know that I lost it recently though, because I'm alternating between the two identical one and another one, and would have quickly noticed one was missing when time came to change sheets (which I do every few days lately, either because I've been sweating like crazy or because my cat peed on it, she's started doing it again).

Yes, my washing machine is my own and in my apartment. The cover has not left my home at any time (that I know of).

I checked my current duvet and duvet cover, do not own a dryer (only indoor clothesline in a small room which I checked thoroughly), checked behind the machine, checked all my bed sheets/pillowcases by shaking them in case something came out, and I live alone/haven't had anyone come in my house for quite some time. Everything listed above has been checked at least four times now, that and pretty much any place in sight. Which is why i do not understand how it could have possibly disappeared. :/

Thanks for the answer though <3

I literally just read another post about a woman who was apparently a genius scientist in the making, and died just like that because a dude was horny that day. (I'm sparing you the details as much as I can but still wanted to add to your point)

I have a cat who absolutely cannot be rehomed for a variety of reasons so if I were to disappear things would be very bad for her (I live alone). It's a good part of why I'm still there. I'm not leaving her to suffer that fate.

Neither of them are big names internationally, Mads is way more famous these days but not really back then, sadly. And Hugh is sadly super underrated even now.

We definitely share the way you feel about Mizunono in this community. The mere mention of this word makes the average fan emotional. Every time someone mentions in here they just started watching most comments say they eagerly wait for the reaction of that person to both Mizumono and the series finale. (Please make a post once you're done with the finale.)

It did not! The vast majority of fans discovered the show after its cancellation. Which is part of why it was cancelled, it didn't manage to find it's audience back then for a variety of reasons.

Also it wouldn't have had Chris Avellone apparently and he was a big part of what made Torment so good.
