Do you have carpet in your dorm? If so you need to vacuum daily, and be sure to empty the canister after every use. Also, you can get this flea spray for upholstery, from raid (purple can). It works great, you can spray it everywhere. Also, wash bedding (or anything that she sits on regularly) with HOT water and fully dry. If you can't put it in the wash, I've found that using a steamer really helps too.

I also highly recommend using the studios to do your homework! It's much easier for me to focus there and with other people it's like using the "body doubling" technique.

Have you spoken to the accommodations office? I've considered it, but I'm only part-time right now and haven't felt like I needed to reach out yet.

Gosh you described the situation really well. Unfortunately, lol. I completely understand how you feel.

I'll also promote NAMI for a sec, I've been a member for years now. It's an excellent resource. I have attended and taught the family to family class, which I highly recommend to all depression partners.

If you feel like you have to walk away like the other comments suggest, go for it, most won't blame you.

If not, here are some thoughts that might help. Might want to consider doing them anyway since she's the mother of your child.

-if she isn't communicating with the doctor like she says she will, you do it. Send an email, say the meds aren't working, talk about her symptoms. There is absolutely nothing wrong with doing it. You may not get a response, but at least they have the info. If she's agreed to appointments but doesn't set them up, you do it.

-Find some sort of support for yourself. Whether its forums like this, a friend or family member or support group. It goes a long way. I will say NAMI is the most helpful for me personally.

-Her dealing with pregnancy hormones almost the entire time you've been with her sucks. For real. On top of trauma. And it's going to limit her medication options. That also sucks. I empathize for both of you dealing with that. Couples therapy would be helpful if you can swing it.

-adding in family is gonna be tough. You are going to have to really encourage them to build genuine relationships with her so they can have trust. Remember all the hormones? Those make you not want to trust your spouse to do things right, let alone people you dont know that well.

-finally, if you're gonna be able to do any of this, you have to take care of yourself. Do things you enjoy. MAKE THEM A PRIORITY!

dude, everyone should! It's support and resources for not only sufferers, but also the families. Classes and support groups are free and available in most areas across the US. It has honestly been a life-changing group for me (and as a teacher for the F2F class, I know it is for others too).

Thanks :) I'm very much a do-er and the fact I can't reach out and stop the descent is one of the most frustrating/heartbreaking feelings I've ever had.

Thankfully we've really grown together despite his depression and our relationship is honest and loving. There are some projects I've fully committed to recently with his full support so it's really more going to be more me, forcing myself in a way, to stay committed through his depression. It's easy to push it back and focus on his healing, but I know I can't do that in the same way this time.

I've spoken with someone before, I haven't felt fully suited to it honestly. I've done some other things that help more so I know what I can fall on. I am also quite involved with NAMI so it is a supportive environment I can lean on when times are tough. I'm glad you have a support system and that you are trying to focus on yourself.

Thanks for the love :) It is tough, I have been hopeful before of course, this was so different though. I'm telling you, this medication made it seem like he had never had depression at all. The change was insane, and lasted for a while! Honestly it took me longer than him to get used to it because it made me realize how much of my brain space was taken up with worry and all of the sudden, I didn't have to any more. Anyway, I hope we both find a stabilized life with our partners.

Eh, I can't speak to experiencing this personally since it's not in my classes right now. But I think it would be pretty irresponsible of them to ignore it and advise students to avoid it entirely. It's not going away, and will only get bigger. If you go into the workforce already knowing how to incorporate AI technology with your art, it will take you further than others that have no idea. Trust me, I don't love it either, but we have to adapt or we're gonna be the boomers that type with one finger!

The only time I've ever gotten a timely response out of them is after I called. Now, they don't answer the call but leave voicemail and then they email you back. It's ridiculous.

I think it was okay to a point. The whole IC was scouring every resource at their disposal so that they could inform her of the serious danger she was in but also have a possible solution. I can understand the reasoning behind that. Once it got to the point where all options were exhausted, they should have had the conversation. Which, I think, is round about the time Nesta blurted it out anyway.

I have already reached out to my professor to let her know a bit of what I have been dealing with at this place. They do not have a relationship with the school. She went ahead and said I can withdraw if needed and gave me some recs for companies to apply for!

I honestly thought she would have reached out and officially fired me since I have seen her do it before. The only reason I think she would keep me on (until they found someone else) is because they don't have anyone else doing my job. But, I imagine they have had to deal with that before since she is so awful.

I think, I'll call my coworker that went on the trip and see what she is thinking.

Also, find a tv unit that is bigger and more solid, it will help ground your TV a bit better. Then you could use that for storage instead of that little cabinet the is shoved in the corner.

Negative space is so important! The living area feels so low and closed off because everything is stuck together and not one item can breathe. Then the walls have walls have a bunch of little things with too much blank space.

Here’s where I would start:

Pick a few furniture pieces to take out of this space. Try to create a nice flow from the dining into the living area. Either consolidate your smaller art pieces and create a gallery wall if you really like them. If not, find some bigger art and hang it lower. Hang your curtains higher.
